i am always reminded that i am right where i am supposed to be. swipe 👈 for a lil recap of my last 4 months in no particular order

i took a big step back from dancing, directing, business in general, and this app. and i took a big leap into my family, my home and the simplicity of life.

this postpartum season has lasted much longer than my first one, and im truly trying to find out who i am today, instead of holding onto versions of me from the past. what brings serese joy today? that’s a question i continue to return to. and while i’m not sure what the next layers of me will have in store, my soul misses connection.

this page will change (and might go dead for a il while) and i’ll be building up our @smithandbrownfam page. i’d love to connect with you there about all things parenting realness and the beautiful chaos that is raising two boys.

@sassnstrut will continue to evolve as @figgie_puddin and i find the magic moments to teach and lead and produce. i cannot wait to see who’s joining me for class next month.

for being intimidated by me
for turning your back on me
for making assumptions about me
for making assumptions that i’m doing okay
for not calling
for not checking in
for taking my kindness for granted
for taking my friendship for granted

Serese. Meaning of the color red. Derived from the french word cherry.
A given name, but one that was not properly born until the art of burlesque entered her world.
Serese danced onto her first burlesque stage in 2008, and never looked back. She has a love for interweaving her years of dance and theatrical training into her stage charm, and collaborating with some of the Austin music scene’s biggest stars.
On stage she’s spicy, bold, bossy and flirty. Off stage you’ll find her down in the dirt wranglin’ her two little boys, and knee deep in show productions for her troupe Brown Burlesque. taken in High Noon by @seresespieces

i read somewhere that If you’re home with your kids all day, you can’t possibly be all three of these:
fun and present
productive
relaxed and recharged
just pick one for the day and roll with it. been rolling with “present” - working on the “fun” 🤪
