Those first few minutes after birth🥹...a mixture of love, endorphins, fatigue, awe, relief, pride, disbelief, discomfort, and joy. Where the veil is thin between our human flesh and our sacred spirit. Nothing like it.

There is so much I could say about this image. This experience. Words can't do it justice, though, so I'll keep it simple.

I had the honor of attending the home birth of my dear friend @seresespieces . As a lover of all things birth, this was the highest honor. I watched as my powerful friend safely, and with power, grace and ease, ushered her second son into this world.

During the night, alongside her midwife (who was also my own midwife 7 years ago), mother and husband, I offered affirmations when she needed a reminder of her strength, gave her water, and took photos. I held her baby as she ate her first meal after birth. I took more photos. I cried and sat in awe of her, of this beautiful new life, and of the miracle of birth. And I took photos.

What a gift it is to be a small part of these sacred moments in time for people. I'll never get over it. 🩶

Mucho gratitude for the opportunity to show up the space as the event photographer.
For an intimately beautiful day of Sharing, Learning, Nourishing, and Healing with the MotherBirds… I had the deep honor of capturing the strength and reverence I got to witness from behind the lens.

One of @nestandbowl most potent offerings are these circles. You’re encouraged to come as you are and all is welcome. Motherbird is a whole day of circles, Ayurvedic meals, healing sessions and connection. Think exact opposite of hustle culture. It’s all about revillaging and being accountable for ourselves and the next generation of children inclusive to Mothers, Aunties, Elders, and Sisters of all walks of life.

Thank you Priya and Kate for creating this sacred container. Because you’ve taught me to say yes to receiving love, even when it’s hard, my life benefits and, continues to unfold abundantly beyond my wildest dreams.

This woman right here? She MOTHERS. She creates, holds, tends to, nourishes, and encourages growth in not just her own children, but also her relationships and her community. 🩵
How lucky are we?
