Parts I & II
@lizzi_mann

Lizzi draws on the parallels of tension and harmony through her textile works. The meditative practice of weaving allows for a time of reflection for the artist. With each passing of the weft or threading of a needle she makes a deeper connection to the material and therefore a deeper understanding and appreciation of its natural origins.

There’s nothing quite like seeing the work in the studio. If anything catches your eye, send us a message and we would be delighted to arrange a visit.

Lizzi Mann (1990) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Bristol, England.

They fuse traditional craftsmanship with modern design and focus on the ritual of making. With a practice spanning textiles, printmaking and painting, they create intuitive works experiencing how forms and materials transform through somatic processes.

New collection now available!

“In The In Between“ is an ongoing body of work by British textile artist Lizzi Mann that explores the ritualistic practice of hand weaving. With an emphasis on the process, as much as the finished artwork, the work considers what can be brought into awareness and reflected on through a meditative creative practice, observing the spaces in between and the yarns suspended between warp threads.

The collection features eleven original pieces of different scales woven in cotton, linen and flax fibre.

Dave Boyd is a Bristol based artist who studied his MA at the Royal College of Art. Dave worked for the University of Bristol Library for almost 30 years, supporting History of Art, and digital services. During this time he continued to practice art on a part-time basis. In 2019 Dave retired from librarianship to focus fully on his practice and currently works from BV Studios, Bristol.

His artistic practice focuses on the juxtaposition between the manmade and natural, and the human experience of geometric forms, surfaces and materials. His practice embodies a built aesthetic and is strongly influenced by architecture and the built environment both urban and rural. Using and repurposing found and discarded materials such as books and cardboard packaging, Boyd’s work seeks to utilise and harness the subtle marks, age and history inherent in objects that have been used and handled over many years.

“Through repeated encounters with my surroundings, particular shapes, textures, and spatial rhythms become embedded in my awareness. These
elements are internalised and later re-emerge in the studio as abstracted gestures and motifs. In this way, the painting functions as a mnemonic landscape constructed from memory and sensation rather than direct observation.”

**NEW**
8 new paintings by @susansimonini are now live on our site, this is our second collection together following the success of the first last year.

This brand new collection of paintings from Susan continue to explore abstraction as a means of engaging with memory, perception and physical sensation. The Tasmanian landscape informs her work, but as an underlying presence rather than a literal subject. Whilst not depicting a specific place or recognisable forms, paintings develop in the space between perception and recollection, where impressions surface during the painting process.

Particularly interested in the intersection between people and their environments, Bayntun’s compositions are often intimate, alluding to something deeply personal – her own experiences of home and family. Captured in the spaces she depicts are the everyday things we overlook, the subtle rhythms of life.
