Tomorrow! All roads lead to @art_car_boot_fair in King’s Cross, where I’ll be showing a load of work with @smithsonprojects, including these new works on paper.

We’ll also be offering some on-the-day-only deals that are too good to talk about on the internet. You’ll have to come and see for yourselves 👀.

Big ups to @annasmithson_curator for the invitation 🙏

I am working on a number of kitchen design projects at the moment and a common requirement is an open plan kitchen dining space which also includes a relaxed seating area. Even a relatively small kitchen space can include this if the layout is carefully considered. I work with a lot of young families and this layout allows for a really practical and usable social space where children can play and adults can relax, cook and can keep an eye on their little ones

This image is of the sofa area in my own kitchen, it has been carefully styled here but in reality my old blue velvet sofa is covered in sticky finger marks and to the left of the sofa is a mountain of toys and a mini book shelf which I am constantly trying to keep tidy but it works so brilliantly for my little family and also means our living room can remain (largely) toy free!

IN THE IN BETWEEN | New collection with @smithsonprojects

So excited to share my new collection with Smithson Projects. I worked with @annasmithson_curator when I first moved to Bristol so it feels like a beautiful full circle moment to be collaborating on this collection together ✨

In The In Between is an ongoing body of work that explores the ritualistic practice of hand weaving. With an emphasis on the process, as much as the finished artwork, the work considers what can be brought into awareness and reflected on through a meditative creative practice, observing the spaces in between and the yarns suspended between warp threads. The collection features eleven original pieces of different scales woven in cotton, linen and flax fibre.

You can view the full collection online @smithsonprojects or get in touch if you want to visit the studio!

This collection reflects on earlier works created in accordance with the Japanese philosophy of Shibumi. Loosely translated as “effortless perfection,” Shibumi embodies an aesthetic of refined simplicity, elegant restraint, and subtle, unobtrusive beauty. The three core principles of Shibumi: Austerity, Asymmetry, and Subtlety are deeply woven throughout my practice.

Guided by these principles, the collection presents minimalist works designed to invite the viewer to pause and connect with the true essence of the subject.

Inspired by the delicate, weathered, and dying leaves of the Eucalyptus plant, this series employs warm tones and unexpected bursts of bright color to capture their subtle shifts in hue. These variations not only celebrate the essential qualities of the leaves on their fragile stems but also reflect the transient nature of life’s cycles, revealing the quiet beauty inherent even in life’s final stages.
