Steve Davis's new album "Steve Davis Meets Hank Jones, Vol. 2", featuring bassist Peter Washington and legendary pianist Hank Jones, is out now. You can listen and buy the album on LP-DL here: https://meetshankjonesvol2.lnk.to/WovBN9HdPS.

“A poignant document of one of the final chapters in Jones’s extraordinary life. And hearing Hank Jones plays with such freedom, elegance and vitality so close to the end of his life makes the album feel like something more than a rediscovered recording. It feels like a final conversation from one of jazz’s great musicians, preserved just long enough for the rest of us to join in.” – PARIS-MOVE by @smokesessionsrecords

Jazz aficionados will be grateful for this rediscovered recording once released this Friday October 16th. "Steve Davis Meets Hank Jones, Vol. 2" was recorded in 2008 and for years was sitting in Steve Davis's glove compartment of his car only for his ears to enjoy during his frequent drives from Hartford to NYC. Thankfully, we can now all enjoy this special, cherished music featuring the legendary pianist Hank Jones.

"There was a long period of time that I thought, "Man, maybe I'm the only who's ever going to hear this.' I'm so grateful to Smoke Sessions for putting in the work to resurrect it." - Steve Davis by @smokesessionsrecords

Back in 2008, trombonist @stevedavis1967, bassist Peter Washington, and legendary pianist Hank Jones entered the recording studio. It took 15 years before any of the music from that session was shared. "Steve Davis Meets Hank Jones, Vol. 1" was released in 2023 to much acclaim. The follow-up, highly anticipated Vol. 2 comes out October 16. Pre-order it today<<link in bio>>.
