Sharing this poster that’s based on a dream. The first ever frame we thought of, around which we wrote the entire story of Soulkadhi. This was the first image in my head that hit me one day before the application for TakeTen.

Potmala:
In deep Konkan, in a wada- A. mother in law snorting Tapkir with her daughter in law smoking… in silence, at night, in a window of their terrace( Potmala) besides a Bakul tree, watching the starry new moon sky.

This was the surreal vision, a flash of inspiration, that became the magic that took over the next 10 months of my life. This is the vision of Soulkadhi.

Thank you for all the love and support. 💙 We need to show the power of regional views to demand refreshing content in our own languages. Please watch the other 9 TakeTen films. If you haven’t already you are missing out. It is a marvellous collection of pure talent. Thank you @taketen.in let’s hope this is a start of something big💙 The whole team of Soulkadhi, each of you is Bakul flower💕 and finally my co-dreamer Smriti. You have my ❤️

Thank you for capturing my dream as is @arooshibhatia

a filmfare award? huh? one day after i turned 23?
this is how the 2020 me would have reacted to this. 3 years. 3 years ago if life events hadn’t turned out a certain way, i would have been lost, still figuring out what i wanted to do in academia.
i so believe in the butterfly effect. miracles are a by product of making a series of right decisions, however small or unconscious they may be. can you imagine that my impromptu decision of going to have icecream with my college friends one random day in 2019 would get me here today!! nah, me neither. but i trust the universe, whatever has happened in my life, good or bad, has led me to this day. this magical, surreal day. and this is why we work @sameeha.sabnis .
3 amazing years of working together, weren’t entirely smooth, but one thing that was constant, we never forgot the magic in creating, in learning and in taking risks.
here’s to more 11:11 s and magical moments. never thought id be here, but never ever doubting why i’m here. eternally grateful for this.

ah i’ve never written such a long caption, but this one deserves it. by @smrettyy

vishu premiere april’25 on @papershootindia 🪞
you ask any filmmaker and they’ll tell you how exhausting the post of any film is. it mentally makes you question every decision you made during pre and shoot. it makes you question your faith in the film. and then comes the day when you call all the people who put their everything into the film & friends who’ve supported you through it all to watch the film. before it goes out into the world. and that’s exactly the high tower surprise you need. the tears, the laughs you hear spread across the theatre- makes it all worth it. your friends loving the film so much that they come to watch it in the second screening too!
with a year since it’s world premiere, this felt like the perfect time to look back at where it started, so so grateful for everyone who was a part of this 🤍

thank you @school.cinema for enabling this ✨
