Wow wow wow! When we got asked to participate in Top Chef Iowa City, we thought we would just make a bunch of dumplings, turn up, serve some food, have some fun, and hopefully see some friends. Never ever would we have thought that we would get 1 prize let alone 2!

So we just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to:

🥟 @downtowniowacity for including us
🥟 the Graduate for hosting us and providing all the equipment and help so that we got to turn up with the least amount of stuff that we have ever had to pack 😅 (if you have seen us at the market, you know 🤪)
🥟 all the guests who came and ate and voted
🥟 our cheerleaders in the crowd, we were touched beyond words by the Snacky chant!
🥟 the Iowa City food & drink community who have welcomed us with so much enthusiasm and warmth since the beginning. We have the best customers and vendor friends!

🩷❤️🧡💛 𝕎𝔼 𝕃𝕆𝕍𝔼 𝕐𝕆𝕌!!! 💚🩵💙💜

And a huge congrats to all the other winners, there were a lot of fun things to eat and drink. But mainly it was lovely to see so many people just enjoying themselves 😊🎊🍾🥂🍸🍹🥗🥙🥪🍛☕️🧁🍰🍮

Hello! We’re new around here and just wanted to introduce ourselves. We are two Chinese-American cousins, Vivian born in America and Sandy born in South Korea. Our inspiration for starting this new venture comes from how we grew up, from the cherished memories of sharing food with our loved ones. We both come from a family restaurant background; our fathers worked together and operated several successful and beloved restaurants in the Midwest.

In the past 18 years, we took our own paths to learn, create, and appreciate the joy of hospitality that centers on the love of good food and drink. But after this very long stint apart, Vivian from Singapore and Sandy from New York have come together in Iowa City, Iowa to cook, to create new dishes, to share our love of Asian inspired food and most of all, to have fun! We hope you will come along on our pop up journey as we start our Pei Sisters Projects, and as we strive to create many tasty and memorable Snacky Mini Mart experiences for you… Cheers!
