Having a head scratch, wondering how you can help keep Vancouver’s mural community thriving?

Well, wait no longer—introducing The Patron Program, for Astro Arts Festival 2025, at AstroArts.ca (see bio)

“Patron?” That sounds like an expensive word.

Well, no. Not this time anyway.

We’re not talking about emptying your vault, calling your Swiss account manager, or offering up your kidneys on the dark web for top dollar.

So, what do I get? A name on a plaque or something?

Actually—yes. And some.

All levels of patron support will have your name permanently displayed on our Patron Plaque at Astro Club (165 West 4th Ave).

But more importantly, you’ll get access to exclusive Patron-only swag, artwork, and VIP event packages—a thank-you for helping launch our humble baby, Astro Arts Festival.

We’re running on pure startup energy, passion, crossed fingers, and the hope that we can help carry forward a legacy built by countless artists, organizations, and supporters—over the past 10 years.

So grab a hat, grab a tickie (or both!), and come party with the wailing creative hydra we summoned together that is Astro Arts Festival, Aug 8-10

We're closing in on two years since our last Snag proper, and like many teenagers (SNAG est. 2012) it's time to kick their asses out of bed and force them to try new things, see new places, talk to new faces and try to show a little decorum. ffs.

This time, the chirping alarm clock, and blistering light pouring through snapped-open blinds are accompanied by a 'get the hell up, we're going to Astroclub' through the gravelly throat of Snag Daddy, Drew Young @drewstuff .

For a special one-night experiment we're going to see if these two can get along.

Do we think it will work?

We don't know!

But how friggin cute would it be if it did?!

We'll have a vintage Snag alumni paint-pushing roster featuring our beloveds @alitbruce @birdfingersss @queenofvermin ; all creating work for our infamous art raffle.

In tandem, a heap of our Astro family will be hosting open studios sharing their works, wips, and wares to ware everywhere. STUDIOS TBA

Music brought to us by Astro family members @djdenise35 and @turbolabs_media

AAAAND weather-permitting (ya'll were very mature about being rained-out last time—not a single spaz or crusty look) our friends at @clean.lines.jam will be hosting a graff jam in Astro Alley. Best behavior either way please.

Problem is: There will be artists everywhere, like no escape everywhere. You've been warned. It very well could become a problem.

So,
Will the density of creative forces be so great that a collective synaptic burst transpires, fusing our aggregated minds into a telekinetic swamp of art speak and pontifications? Will Snag and Astro strike up an amicable dynamic hinting towards a hopeful and prosperous future for Vancouver's illustrious art scene? And was @nickpound just a figment of our imagination?

Find out March 29th, 6pm-12am

$10 Entry + 1 Raffle Ticket

Additional Raffle Tickets:
1/ $5 | 3/$10 | 10/$20

WE GETTIN HITCHED NEXT MONTH AND Y'ALL ARE INVITED!

This June 22nd, the old ranks creak their way out of the crypt for our most momentous event ever in support of a love story — one to possibly put an end to time itself.

Join us in stepping into a temporal and emotional wormhole from the frivolous past of our youths to the illustrious and as-of-yet uncongealed future. Pick your side in an epic battle that will once and for all decide which forces control the universe going forward.

DREW YOUNG and COLLEEN CHRISTISON will be offering their souls/life spirit as a sacrifice to be entwined forever in an effort to heal the rift between the dualist ying and yang of the universe… but we need your help!

The spiritual energy required for a ritual of this magnitude requires as much life force as we can get our grubby little mitts on. That means WE WANT YOU and your élan vital to help enact this rite — one with the potential to defeat the force of entropy and reverse our path towards the heat death of the universe. If we do it right.

In the wash of smoky afterglow following the ceremonial unification of these two daemon avatars/scapegoats of passion, we invite you to descend into a BACCHANALIAN RECEPTION where even the nicest of us will be getting nasty with the help of our SNAG colleagues and alumni.

CEREMONY AT 9:30 SHARP, RECEPTION TO FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY.

WHAT DO WE ASK OF YOU?

Costumes are mandatory. You must declare your allegiance to the factions of either the Good Guys or Bad Guys, and we want to be able to tell just by lookin’ at ‘ya. Doors open at 7, so come strut your stuff early, or we’ll screw up the metaphysical and astrological alignments necessary to enact the ceremony properly.

• DY X CC’S WEDDING CEREMONY

• SNAG ART RAFFLE ft/@terbywonder @spacejetcomics @alisonannwoodward @kjscottart

• MURAL ROAST ft/@ghostmeadow @birdfingersss

• COSTUME CONTEST

• GLORY HOLE MANICURES

• BURLESQUE

• MYSTERY BAGS

• PLINKO

• FOOD TRUCK

• CHANCE TO WIN ‘THE GOLDEN TICKET’ TO THE REAL THING!
