The magic of Snake & Pig is right there in that gray air cushion gasket - between the lenses and the soft silicone that touches your skin is a tube of air. It’s the pillow of awesome that keeps water out while it keeps you comfortable. If you can’t swim from the beginning to the end of your workout without adjusting your goggles to make them hurt less, it’s time to try something new. Srsly. by @snakeandpiggoggles

“I am a marathon swimmer and open water swim coach in Southern California. I have had lots of goggles in my life and I am extremely picky when finding the perfect pair. The nose bridge on the snake and pig goggles is flexible and because it's made of a hard plastic, it won’t warp if you leave them in your car on a hot day. The shape of the lens, suction and distance away from the eyes allows me to wear my goggles loosely without them leaking. When you swim for hours, nothing can be too tight!”

These pink Basilisk goggles stayed comfortable for a full 10k swim. Yes - you read that right! 6.2 miles in about 3 hours - no fiddling, no goggle pain, just lots of swimming 🐠 🐟… What big swim goal do you have coming up this summer? And what color Basilisks are you bringing with you?

Swimming is important.

Swimming might not be the MOST important of the 3 sports, but it still matters.

Running, cycling, gut training, nutrition, strength, mobility, massage, sleep, hydration… they’re all important. Some less, some more, but they still are. You can’t rule them out.

I’m biased. I like to swim. I have a swimming background, and I also have the knowledge and a good understanding of how to program swim workouts for triathletes.

Different than programming for swimmers… just like running and cycling programming for triathletes is different than programming for a pure runner or cyclist. It’s different. That’s it.

Goggle selection is highly important for open-water swimming, but also for training quality.

How annoying is it to swim for 30–60 minutes with leaking or foggy goggles? Or worse, having raccoon eyes for hours afterward. 😂

At the Nice 70.3 Worlds, I used the highest-ranked lens for bright, sunny conditions, and I doooo NOT regret it.

The sun was straight in my face for at least 700 m of the 1,900 m course. I don’t know how much slower…or how far out of line…I would have been if I hadn’t had these.

Swimming fast on your watch is great… but can you see where you’re going?

This year, I literally used every lens: at races, during open-water training, and at the pool.

We’re throwing it way back to this 2020 pic of our amber goggles at Lake Georgetown. These are great for medium light and changing conditions. They’re more scratch resistant on the outside than metallized goggles. Plus, they’re orange - perfect for PSL season ☕️🎃😅. Have you tried a pair? I’ve had people say things to me about my swimming when keeping their mouth shut was free, yet I let those words fester in my head.
I’ve deferred the same goal swim two years in a row.
In that stretch, I forgot this is what I was put on this planet to do.
Just a lady from Pennsylvania ready to swim for really, really long periods of time in the wild waters.
