trapped,extra pompom form crown commission 2020,irrigation drip tape from 2024,hat I bought
on the fly in nyc because my head was cold, green lace that covered my desktop in my studio
for years, fake flowers that Chris found for me at the bins, scraps from Melissa’s costumes,
pieces of a hammock i never set up, Yarn someone gave me 8 years ago, braids mom made out of wool and rope, cut up
tubing,vinyl from a barbie fannypack, 80s charms,tinsel from a
hair salon’s grand opening, vintage fishing lure, netting from a soccer goal, 3d pen plastic tubing, easter
grass on sale at the last kmart,foam,glue,wire,thread,plaster,paint,varnish

It made sense to bring it into a shipyard🤷‍♀️ I made this piece out of salvaged random stuff in 2024 as part of a collaborative installation at center camp in the Black Rock Desert. It was part of the decor for the @furtherrrcollective live painting stage and existential action tea temple lounge that @sparklespositron so beautifully curated and led. shes still dusty obvs and has been on many a dj booth since-- lovingly referred to as the dj dangle🙃. Its a heavy one to travel around with but shes stayed intact just a little tangled. Having to make something to withstand the environmental pressures of the burn rlly strengthened my ephemeral ways. swipe for some history. ps i dont think i meant to be waving the shocker around in pic 1 its a sloppy peace sign😇✌🏻🖖🏼

a temporary adornment on a teeny corner of the silos.
been rearranging and showing the emotional prosthetics what's outside of the gallery. These pieces have absorbed a lot of energy in less than a year which makes sense with their name, and I thank them for holding things for me💕

Im entranced by the moment where softness meets structure. where fiber gets sealed and fossilized. Whether with paint or glue or bioplastic or resin, those contrasts soothe my brain. It’s a quiet obsession, turning frayed scraps into forms and dream artifacts.

These methods came from decades (I’ve been around that long🥹) of experimentation and failing and refining,,,listening to what the materials want to become. Long before I was a mother and now with a teenager where we both have so much independence, the makings are still here 🤍
