A Flood of Memories was out yesterday, which is an incredibly freeing thing to say. to the people who came to help me celebrate launch day - I love & appreciate you immensely!!! unending gratitude to my publisher and editor, who saw so clearly what this book should be even when I couldn’t yet. Bella - both your patience and skill are unparalleled.

Sheepish thanks to Joaquin who came from Sweden just to traipse around London bookshops and be ordered to take fifty photos. <3333 To the bookshops who had me :) you’re angels & it was a dream! Thank you!

About the book:

It’s raining in Sarawak, Malaysia - a lot - and Leila, now living in Kuala Lumpar, must go home to help her Mak before the floods become serious. Istanbul mekduak raon! But I bet it wasn’t prepared to run out of oranges from me drinking endless 100 lira juices a day or my sister to buy up all the evil eye rings in the city to bring back as souvenirs. Every night she scrolled through her Maybank app and asked what all these bank transactions were. Girl it was the forty purchases you made “window shopping”. This is the last post I am making about our trip I promise. by @snsknene

Ohhhhh my God we saw the tigers and the giraffes and the zebras and the lions and the antelopes UP CLOSE!!! and the elephant and the rhinos and the hippos and the sea lions and the wallabies and the koalas(♥️♥️♥️) and the wombat and the meerkats and the crocodiles and the red pandas and the GORILLAS and the camels and the binturong and the cheetahs and the cotton top tamarins and the crocodiles and the bat cave (👎🏼) and the dik dik and the wolves and we fed the deer and held a tarantula and we saw so much I’ve forgotten to list half of the animals it was such a good day taken in Longleat Safari Park by @snsknene

A few weeks ago two very dear friends of mine presented me with an absolutely undeserved gift for Flood launch day. @hoopandhammer had whipped up a gorgeous wonder of a perfectly-sized notebook for me to jot down any writerly thoughts I might have when I’m out and about!!! When they presented it to me I started tearing up all over my murger. Look how personalised and pretty it is! Stitchy and Wiggy and a note for my banjo learning journey and a plate for all our adventures in eating :((( ♥️

The least I can do is tell you that you too can have a book customised just for you. If you give it a as a gift I guarantee it will be received with thanks and tears!!! If you want to look at other gorgeous examples head to @hoopandhammer and if you want to take my advice for a birthday / Christmas / anniversary hack – just drop Olivia a DM there. ♥️
