Gratitude to Abe Porter @snugharboroutpost for this. Bear family traversing the wetlands Contango wants to turn into an industrial port in order to ship ore from a gold mine within the boundaries of Lake Clark National Park. Can we just let some places... be? by @snugharboroutpost

NPR recently shared that under the Soviet Union, a favored toast of dissidents was “To our hopeless cause.” A few years later, the Berlin Wall fell. The few who would benefit the most want you to believe development is inevitable – up to and including poorly-considered industrialization over endangered species and wildlife sanctuaries. There is power in questioning this inevitability. We know there are sustainable, real-world alternatives. Join our dissent. Like, share, follow: there will be a time we will need many voices chiming in.

DARK & MOODY

Genetics said “let’s try something dark and moody” when it created this red fox kit. 🖤

THE DOCS

As we prepare to head back to Alaska, I can’t help but think about the trip where @doug_rettig and I met these two, @jim_shuler_md and el_trubo! That trip, with @karphotography to @snugharboroutpost, will always be one of our most special trips! So many incredible friendships that have lasted through the years!!!

Cheers to the OG Paw Patrol crew! 🐻

Land of the Midnight Sun ☀️

In Alaska’s summer months, daylight stretches late into the night, giving us more time for beach fires, bear viewing, boat rides, and sunsets that seem to last forever.

Just another summer evening at Snug Harbor Outpost.

Who else wishes summer lasted forever? 🌲🏔️🌊

The bears are out! 🐻🌿

Summer bear viewing is in full swing around Lake Clark, and we’ve been seeing brown bears grazing in the coastal grass, wandering the shoreline, and moving through their natural habitat.

Join us this summer!
