I knew it was only a matter of time before this happened 🙈 Fletcher is faking a limp to copy Candy.
Talk about taking attention seeking to a whole new level! Or maybe it’s empathy? He is too funny 🤣

How long do you think he’ll keep this up?

Sandy paws & big smiles. We jumped on the chance for a beach walk between the recent storms. We’re still working on Socks’ eye & movement co-ordination. Sometimes it’s good, other days I question whether she has a brain 😂 Today was a good day & she loved the chase playing. There’s few photos of Fletcher because he was acting absolutely feral, become voluntarily deaf & refused to get out the sea 🫣 Socks wasn’t much better at recall either. Behind these smiling pups are two frazzled parents 🤣

Day 3 of our mini break to France. Sun, sand, splashing & smiles. It was only a short trip but our little family made beautiful memories 🇫🇷🌊🐚🦪🐾

Just you, me & the sea 🧡 There is nothing more special than moments like this with these two.

Day 2 of our French trip started with a beautiful sunrise walk. Socks was zooming so fast I could hardly catch a photo of her. The afternoon we explored the port, followed by another beach run, which resulted in paw injury following Fletcher’s dolphin move 🤦🏽‍♀️🐬 I’m not sure if it was a sprain or if he stood on a shell, but the more you pander to Fletch, the more fuss he makes. So we downplayed it & he made a miraculous recovery by the morning 😂

Stay tuned for day 3! There’s so many good snaps I couldn’t share in one post.

Socks & Fletcher have been on their travels 🇫🇷🐾 We took a mini break to Gruissan, in the Occitanie region of France, to escape the construction at home. Socks was struggling with the noise but she soon forgot all about it with her zoomies. The coastal village was the perfect place for our sea loving, paw splashing, sand zooming pups. Day 1 was spent with hours on the beach; Socks running full turbo rocket speed & Fletcher doing his best dolphin impression (why run on land when you can jump through water, eh?). We walked to the top of the castle for sunset, enjoyed a pizza dinner (fletch soaked the restaurant by dunking his head in a water bowl), then returned to the chateau for an early night.

Day 2 adventures coming tomorrow 🐶🐾🐕

Ps: that first video might be my favourite so far, pure happiness!

It was a big week in the Socks & Fletcher household, we finally started renovations 🛠️. Settle in for story time…

Unfortunately, Socks had an absolute breakdown when we started demolishing & hid in the bedroom shaking. It was like her whole world had ended & it broke my heart.

Now sometimes, I worry Fletcher doesn’t care about Socks. Yes they snuggle, play & eat together but he does have a tendency to pretend she doesn’t exist. Like when he can easily walk around her but instead chooses to walk over her. This week Socks was swimming, rather than wait for her to go past or swim around, Fletch swam straight across her, dunking her under the water. Classic big brother move 😆

However, our sweet boy never fails to amaze us. He knew Socks needed help, so he followed her everywhere, settling down next to her, keeping her calm & helping her feel safe. I couldn’t be prouder of him ❤️🥹 He’s empathy, kindness & ability to understand a situation is incredible.

This prob explains why we’re quieter over here than usual but to reduce the stress for Socks, this week we have a mini trip to France. She’s switching construction for a chateaux 😆

Empty beaches are back! Socks is happy as can be to have the beaches back as her zoomie playground, & the late summer tides are perfect for the seal pup 🐕🦭

It’s our weekly dog diary! We’ve squeezed in as much beach as possible between packing up the house for a full renovation. We had one of the best nights of the summer playing on the beach until dark and it was just us four.

Now, how will we cope when have to camp in a bedroom together for a month? 🤣

The swag on these two makes me laugh. Neither of them can walk in straight line & they definitely judge my choice of dog walking outfit. Mind you so did my husband the other day, he asked if I was wearing pyjamas in the forest, while Fletch & Socks pretended not to know me 🤣
