We still have no idea how a tiny, three-legged puppy ended up alone in the jungle, but taking the time to earn her trust was so worth it. Socks was completely terrified of the world when we found her. But now, she’s living in Spain, running circles around her brother Fletcher, and sprinting full speed on three legs like nothing ever happened❤️

Birthday in the house! My baby is 12 🐾 We celebrated with a day of all his favourite things; beach, swimming, collecting sticks, digging, diving, presents & of course sausages!

Fletcher’s high energy & craziness is a pain in the backside sometimes (trust me, spaniel ownership is not for the faint hearted & is a full time job 😆) but I hope it lasts forever & ever! He’s just the best dog ever. Here’s to another 12 years of loving & adventuring with you sweet boy ❤️

Think Alicante and usually beaches, bars & Brits come to mind. While the coastal city is always a fun trip with its sandy beach, beyond that is a kind of peaceful location that’s rare to find.📍Save this location if you’re looking for a complete switch off…

What you need to know:
~ We stayed in a boutique style finca called El Pao
~ It’s five bedrooms, each with their own private garden terrace
~ Breakfast is included but there’s no restaurant or cooking facilities, just an honesty bar(fridge) & the nearest town is 25 mins away on winding roads. No restaurants were open each time we visited.
~ It’s remote. You’ll need a car
~ Peace & quiet is at the core of this place; the kind of place where you read, swim & nap on repeat
~ WiFi & signal is limited but that adds to the slow pace
~ It’s dog-friendly. Dogs are 11e per night.

A little afternoon reset for us & pure joy for the pups. I can’t even begin to describe the carnage in front of my husband & I when we sat down together. It was digging, running, sand flying mayhem! You’d think I’d know better by now than to expect a relaxing moment on the beach with Fletcher 😆🐾

A little Easter recap. A lovely long weekend spent with friends, eating, laughing, dancing & making memories sans phone. Bliss!

The beaches are crazy busy this weekend so we spent most of our time in town or at friend’s homes. Saturdays long lunch somehow turned from aperitivo to 1am garden karaoke at our house, but I got to use my new favourite Spanish phrase: “perdida para el ruver”, which basically means you’re ‘lost to the river’, going with the flow & no going back. No idea if I’ve written that correctly 😆
