What a season ended couple weeks ago!

This season was really significant for me. Truly experienced the highest highs and lowest lows. Season started pretty well and I was really happy how the races went. It was pleasure to see that the winters work had paid off and the progress had been made in all the disciplines. Then little by little setbacks started to occur before and during the competitions and it really showed in the performances.

The season also ended with the same difficult theme. The plan was to race first in EJC Moletai and then week after in EJC Jurmala. Moletais race got cancelled due to dangerous winds. Couple days before EJC Jurmala I got a flu. Evening before the race I wasn’t even sure if I could compete.
I decided to race, even though I still had the flu. Now when im writing this, im not sure how smart it was to compete. Cause as we know, competing while sick can never be a good idea🥲Knowing that it would be the last race of this season for me, I really wanted to do it.

Between the races I also got opportunity to be part of Europe triathlon development camp which im really grateful of!🙏🏼

However, before we start working towards the next season, its time to rest for a while😴

Weekend full of lessons in mental toughness I guess🤷🏼‍♀️

Couple weeks ago, on friday, we raced at the Junior European Championships in Poland. After a pretty chaotic swim got a strong group of girls to ride with. On the second lap I crashed. This was really the last race where I wanted this to happen. Felt so dissapoppinted and frustrated. Still, I was able to continue the race so that’s something I have to be happy about. After that, on saturday morning we had to fly home for sunday’s supersprint nationals. On saturday, just night before nationals I couldn’t get my bike back togheter cause of the crash. On sunday morning, I had to take my bike to the mechanic and hope they can fix it. 40min before my semifinal started turned out that they couldn’t fix the bike. Luckily got a bike from a boy who wasn’t competing so I got opportunity to race. In the afternoon we had finals and I got another bike from @trivenlak. Luckily I had ridden it a couple of times in training so the bike was a quite familiar. Really really dissapointed with my performances. Felt the crash in my body and after all that stress and chaos I just wasn’t at my best. Still should be happy that I was able to race.

After all:
48th place at Junior Euros and Supersprint Nationals U19 3. + elites 5.

Europe Junior Cup Tiszaújváros🇭🇺

Though weekend behind. Good enough performance in Fridays semifinals to qualify for the finals. In Saturdays final the almost 40 degree heat wore me out and i couldn’t perform at my normal level. Felt overhelmed through the whole race and at the end my only goal was to make it to the finish line. Still got invaluable experience of what it’s like to race conditions like these🙏🏼

Now it’s time to move on and look ahead to the upcoming races!

Samalla Nordic Cupin U19🥉 ja Eliten 7.

Pari väsyneempää viikkoo treeneissä näky myös kisassa ja etenkin juoksun vireessä😵‍💫 Lisäks jostain syystä löysin iltapäivällä itteni myös viestin viivalta. Ihan hauskaa vaihtelua ja omalta osuudelta vaihtoon kolmantena. Lopulta meidän 🇫🇮🇸🇪 yhdistelmäjoukkueella yleisen 4.🙏🏼

european youth triathlon championships🇪🇺

before we started our trip, first to bled for the european junior cup and then to kitzbühel for european youth champs i felt a little uncertain, as i had just been sick for a week. still somehow got my confidence back in training, step by step.

on friday we had semifinals. my own race was a big disappointment and after that i was really excited about the final place.

the final went a bit better and i felt stronger in every part of the race. one of the most important things, i felt much more relaxed before the start. the gears stopped working on the bike but still kept up with the group. finished with p24 in b-final

still much work to do, but now one more week training and then little rest before we turn our attention to next season🤩🙏🏼
