Today the IDF rescued Noa Argamani, Shlomi Ziv, Almog Meir Jan and Andrei Kozlov! An absolute miracle! I have no words, only a deep joy I haven’t felt in a very long time! by @sofiamiryam

My first ever post, the first in a series.
Attempting to journal what I can remember of the past month. Documenting it, sharing it, because the world needs to know.

It’s November 7, it’s been a month. A month since October 7th when I woke up to loud booms rattling and shaking the house, over and over and over.
I was the only one awake.
Something seemed wrong, very wrong, in my gut I knew it and in my soul I could feel it.
I needed confirmation. I opened my phone and saw “red alerts” lining my screen, many, many red alerts.
I woke my husband who was still deep asleep and unaware of what was going on. “Honey, there are rockets raining, this is different, something is wrong”. Not long after, my brother in law, rushing, looking for things, he’s not himself. I ask him in passing if he knows if it’s serious. He stops and looks me in the eyes and says “it’s very serious, bodies are lining the streets in the south”. That’s all he said, at that point I did not know that there were murderous terrorists shooting civilians, I thought he meant casualties from the rockets. Meanwhile loud booms in the background the whole time. My children hadn’t noticed yet, I hoped they would stay unaware. But that didn’t last very long. This whole time I’m staying near the children, giving them something to eat, making sure they don’t run out in the yard to play in case the rockets reach us. More red alerts, the phone won’t stop dinging. I try to change the settings on my phone so it will stop the constant noise and only alert me for our area. Then the name of the town next to us pops up on my screen, and another one, I slightly panic and tell the kids “come with me” as I was prepared for the wailing of the sirens the start, they rush to me like baby chicks, we step out the door and I realize I’m over reacting there’s no siren here. The kids are confused and I tell them “I just wanted to make sure you’d come when I called”. They can tell I’m not acting normal.
We step back in to the house. Immediately sirens blare! The kids know, they run to the shelter without hesitation. I grab the two year old who doesn’t understand what’s going on and is staring at me in bewilderment… #ouroctober7th by @sofiamiryam
