Another beautiful retreat in the books 🌲☀️
Wilderness Wellness is really about finding joy in the lifelong pursuit of health.
Each retreat we focus on a different idea, and this retreat's theme was ✨ Childlike Wonder ✨
The concept that we don't need to look as far back as our hunter gatherer ancestors to find a healthier version of ourselves, we can look to our own childhoods.
As kids we challenge ourselves in new ways, we have new experiences, meet new people, we are open and less judgemental with ourselves, we laugh, we run, we play!
We tried to embrace that throughout our day: eating like it's the first time we were tasting something helped us eat slowly and mindfully, being open to all our senses during forest bathing, experiencing nature in new ways, talking to new people about our deeper thoughts, running around laughing during our scavenger hunt.
Thank you all for a beautiful day, I hope you can join the next one!

When it’s war-time but your cousins from the USA still come to visit. 🥹🖤🇮🇱

Joy in the midst of tragedy. Such a precious memory.

And we’ll go again! DM me if you want to join us for an upcoming solidarity trip where we go support and show the people of Israel that they are not alone as they are fighting for their right to exist.

Next up: Brunch 🍳
We collect fire wood and prep a real food feast as a tribe.
Whole foods, organic animal protein & produce; nourish the body and the soul.
The food landscape has changed dramatically over the past 50 years or so. The quality of our food has definitely changed. But so have the rituals around food and eating.
Gone are the days of cooking as a family, as a community. So many of us are eating in our cars, at our desks, on our way out the door. Our body can't be in the parasympathetic state of "rest and digest" and properly use and absorb our food when we are eating under this stress.
In modern day there is so much we can do to elevate the eating experience, slow down, breath and truly enjoy our food. There is also no need to over complicate things with different diet fads each week. We can simply eat real food, from nature, like we've been eating since the beginning of time.
This meal time at Wilderness Wellness truly highlights that and I hope we can all appreciate the food we eat in a new way going forward.

This is medicine.
We met in the forest🌲
We built a fire 🔥
We made food and cooked as a community🍽️
We went for a hike, laid on the ground and breathed ⛰️
We had real discussion and got to connect on a deeper level❤️
We journaled and sat with our thoughts🧘‍♀️

We live in 2023, there is no changing that. But there is changing the way we interact with the world around us, the people around us. We can include things we know are good for our minds and bodies. We can try to minimize the things we know are not serving our health. We are incredibly lucky to live in a time where we have this choice.
Make time for this medicine. Getting outside, bonding with others, nourishing and moving your body; we cannot achieve optimal health without it.
I am so grateful to the women who came with open hearts and minds and shared such a special experience with me 🙏 looking forward to the next one, stay tuned!
