It was an absolute honor to share this milestone with all of you. Seeing so many smiling faces, hearing your kind words, and signing copies of my book reminded me why I embarked on this creative journey in the first place. This event was more than just a book launch - it was a celebration of a magical writing journey, set in the most fitting venue imaginable: The Iconic Mermaid restaurant inside the @boceanresort on Fort Lauderdale Beach. A special thank you to the incredible team at B Ocean Resort for hosting us at the historic Wreck Bar and to the mermaids for their stunning performances that brought a piece of Maradonia to life. There’s just something so exhilarating about thinking of a concept in your mind and making it come alive in a beautiful story. With my degree in Communications, I have also worked in the field of directing, producing videos, singing and creating… but my passion has always been writing. My first book is called, “The Secret of Moon Lake”. This is a middle grade story about a young boy named Sam, who finds a mysterious medallion. Strange things begin to happen in the city of Moon Lake, as he unfolds the connection between the medallion and a mermaid who is trapped in the lake… With so much invested time and dedication to writing, this story took me about three years to create. However, I am not alone in this endeavor… my mother just so happens to be an artist and created the beautiful illustrations you see throughout my book. This was a beautiful collaboration which unfolded before our eyes! ➡️ Here’s some exciting news though… I am simply ecstatic to announce that my latest #YAnovel is about to hit the markets! I’ve been working on this new book ever since The Secret of Moon Lake took off. For now, I can only tell you that it is a YA fiction/fantasy novel that is a completely different series… can’t wait, can’t wait, can’t wait!!!! 💫 Should I do a title reveal for the new series? This photo is too epic to not share on my profile. As an author, this is what I imagine the Warrior Mermaids of Maradonia to look like ⚔️🧜🏻‍♀️ Beautiful, yet fierce. Once you unleash the warrior within, it’s game over. About the book: Siblings Maya and Joey are forced to embark on a perilous journey when they are shipwrecked off the coast of Maradonia. After encountering fierce warrior mermaids, the siblings find out that their only way home is through a teleportation portal . . . which doesn’t work! If they want to get home, the siblings realize they must join the mermaids and find a way to revitalize the portal before it falls into the wrong hands. Just when all seems to go smoothly, a United States military expedition arrives on the shores of Maradonia and begins their own search for the portal. To make matters even worse, the Dark Realm declares war on the mermaids. Fighting one enemy is bad enough, but contending with two invasive opponents may prove too much for the mermaids. In Maradonia and the Guardians of the Portal, Maya and Joey are in for more trouble than they ever imagined: the ultimate battle for control of the universe.
