30 years old. 21 years in pain. 4 years of surgeries. 5 years full of life so far. I'm doing it for me ❤️

Hi, if you haven't met me, my name is Sofie, I'm currently 30 years old, I have a dog named Ester that I love more than anything, I love being creative and am a pretty decent artist, if I may say so myself.
I have also been very open about my struggles with my physical and mental health, both in real life, and online, and that probably will never change.
I suffered with something called Compartment Syndrome for a very large portion of my life, to the point where it became chronic, and required 3 surgeries on both legs, and more than a full year of physical therapy where I basically had to rewire my brain to figure out what muscles to actually use when walking/climbing stairs, etc, to become painfree. This journey took a bit over 4 years.
For 21 years it went undiagnosed, and I was in constant pain when I tried to exercise, which caused a very hateful relationship with movement, and in turn, my own body. Not gonna lie, still struggle sometimes, but with a lot of therapy it's gotten a whole lot easier!
So far, I have lived in a (mostly) painfree body for 5 years, and I am eternally grateful to be able to find out what my body, and my mind, are capable of.
I found joy in movement, which I never thought possible!
I started a sport I am incredibly passionate about, and through it I have met some of the most wonderful people in the world.
I have travelled, explored incredible places, I ran my first ever race (5km, in about 35 minutes!) after never having been able to run more than a couple minutes without excruciating pain (I cried on the way home). I got an education in personal training and nutrition.
I finally found a love for health, no matter what that may look like!
And I absolutely cannot wait to find out what else I can do ❤️ by @sofie.karevi

Very much not polished, but @lalitachihradze was kind and tried to teach me a little aerial pole before this, and I was feeling nauseous 😅 it's a start at least 🥰 by @sofie.karevi
