Had a fun time designing style frames for @weareremade studio on Daitaiku projects. 🖤💚

This sequence explores the transition from the real world into an abstract data world — looking at how a single shape can transform within 3D space and how to create a sense of depth and immersion. And then threw them into After Effects for a quick transition test.

Continuing from my previous @adobe illustration for @cannes_lions , the unique part of this project was using the final artwork with Adobe Firefly.

I first prepared the artwork by separating each element into its own layer, making it easier for Firefly to interpret the composition. From there, I experimented with different textures, colors, and materials while staying true to the original theme of empathy.

Although the shapes got a bit wonky, it was exciting to see the work transform in such unexpected ways! #illustration #adobefirefly #visualstorytelling taken in Los Angeles, California by @sofieleeya

One of my favorite stages of any project is exploring color.

Starting with @adobe signature red, I played with different palette combinations using the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. Swipe to see the variations. 🎨 #illustration #photoshop #colordesign #campaign #digitalart taken in Los Angeles, California by @sofieleeya

Here are some of the idea sketches and brainstorming for @adobe Cannes Lions Festival illustration. From the word listing and writing doodle, I picked 3-5 words that strongly connected with the theme.

1) An artist’s hand is gently embraced by fellow artists, symbolizing empathy. It‘s inspired by a personal experience — being supported by other artists always felt like my hand was wrapped in theirs, passing along warmth. And then a flowing silk ribbon and surrounding creative tools respresent the flow of ideas and imagination.

2) A visual poem about empathy: hands gently pass water from one to another, while nearby an artist sketches fish on the surface of a quiet pond. As imagination takes over, the drawings come to life and drift toward the hands.

3) A more literal concept: two hands from different spaces reach toward one another as a gesture of empathy. Between them, creative objects fill the space, connected by soft, flowing silk.

4) Two hands open a doorway into a new world. Magical elements emerge, revealing a place where empathy sparks creativity and imagination.

5) Chosen sketch.

6) A symbolic flower blooms from diverse hands, representing empathy. Creative objects drift around it, woven together by flowing silk. #illustration #sketches #photoshop #branding #campaignillustration taken in Los Angeles, California by @sofieleeya

Last year, I had the pleasure of being invited by @adobe to create one of the hero illustrations for the 2025 Cannes Lions Festival. My assigned theme was “Empathy.”

I wanted to capture the idea through two hands holding a magical flower (yes, I still love all things magical) blooming in an endless field, a quiet, hopeful moment that celebrates human connection.

From the initial sketches to the final artwork, I absolutely loved the creative journey on this one. I’ll share more process on the next posts. Stay tuned 🌸 #illustration #adobe #visualstorytelling #gradientart #photoshop by @sofieleeya
