finally got myself to post this project from last year, the first music video I ever did on super 8 🎞 (and hopefully the first of many). made with the most intention and love for my friends @eternasanimas <3. this song is about mourning and letting go to finally become. transness is the biggest gift, and trans love is the most tender, purest, and realest love there is and ever will be🏳️‍⚧️

MORDAZ es un intento de su realizador, Clio, por apoyar a Estefano, joven chileno encarcelado por defender su vida de un ataque transfóbico. A través de distintos registros y archivos, tanto personales como del caso de Estefano, Clio indaga en el quehacer documental, su propio género, y cómo la violencia sistémica atraviesa de lo institucional a lo íntimo.

MORDAZ is an attempt by its director, Clio, to support Estefano, a young Chilean man incarcerated for defending his life from a transphobic attack. Through a variety of personal and case-related archives, Clio explores the practice of documentary filmmaking, their own gender, and how systemic violence permeates from the institutional to the intimate.

If you haven’t found your (romantic or platonic!) valentine yet, we got you!
Through an anonymised process, you can send us some words about you, and who you dream to find. The personal ads will be printed out and featured in the dyke*bar space over the weekend, and on Saturday night you’ll get the chance of having them read to you personally by @gazermagazine. You’ll also have the possibility to buy one of their magazines and support the funding of the 4th edition.

AND since transparency is sexy: We will be donating half of the dyke*bar’s proceeds to @powertranse3000’s transition fund, so come by and spend some $$$ - the rest of the money will be shared between a fund for future events and payment for our lovely staff<3

Customized joggers and hand-screenprinted type maricas by @ais.gh, @noelito161, @mendvaleria & @jennyv.lr

“Marica” is a Spanish slang term with meanings that vary by context, and it has historically been used as a derogatory word questioning someone’s masculinity or targeting LGBTQIA+ individuals. Its use is rooted in machismo, a cultural norm that promotes traditional gender roles. Today, the term has been partly reclaimed by the LGBTQ+ community and is also used casually or affectionately among friends in some regions, especially in Colombia. Still, “marica” can be hurtful depending on tone, intent, and context.

“Marica” is a Spanish slang term with multiple meanings depending on context and culture. Historically, it has been a derogatory word used to insult someone by questioning their masculinity or implying weakness—often targeting LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Its usage is deeply influenced by machismo, a cultural norm in many Spanish-speaking societies that emphasizes traditional gender roles and ideals of masculinity.

Today, however, the meaning of marica has evolved. Some members of the LGBTQ+ community have reclaimed the term, using it as a symbol of pride and solidarity. In many parts of Latin America—especially in Colombia—it is also used casually and affectionately among friends.

Still, it’s important to note that marica can remain a slur depending on the context, tone, and intent.
