@openground.club appreciation post!

Forever grateful, @mauzius, for trusting me with closing the night. And much love to everyone I connected with that night. Staff, Artists and Guests alike - I am still processing it all haha (::

The sets a wild one. A rollercoaster through a bunch of my favorite records. Quite personal, fitting the intimate vibe of the Annex Floor. I hope you find as much joy to listen back to it as I do.

This time with @drumsofjay from London, @softburn_ from Aachen and Ballett label head @mauzius , bringing together a tense and intimate gathering on the Annex floor.

It’s time to introduce the artists behind our upcoming event on the 09.08.

15 DJs across 3 stages — each bringing their own style to SWAY

First up: Softburn

Softburn crafts DJ sets that move bodies while deepening the head-to-heart connection. Spacious and weighty, his selections are fueled by emotive deep cuts, slow burns, and freezing cold basslines veiled in ambient haze. Rooted in Dubstep and UK Soundsystem culture, his sound reflects over a decade of exploration behind the decks. From dubbed-out post-rave meditations to percussion-driven club experiments, Softburn blends bass traditions with forward thinking textures - always in search of deeper vibrations. taken in Cologne, Germany by @softburn_

//003 Camera

@softburn_ fka Klympt showcases his old camera with a mix thematising the childish gaze, its innocence contradicted by its curiosity. A look through a lens where virtual monsters roam the land, and invite you to explore the wilderness.

klympt (aka emitter) is a dj and producer from aachen. he is part of @tba.info, organizing parties and concerts, as well as @heavyrotationdus, hosting a monthly show on call shop radio. his sound range covers all sorts of electronic music with his roots being in dubstep – which is where he takes us for this vinyl only mix. enjoy one hour of carefully selected deep cuts inviting you to dream away and reminding you to slow down and take care of yourself during cold and darker times.

thanks for your sound @klympt <3

Klympt can’t remember a time where he wasn’t a DJ. Growing up, Music always was his preferred way of expression so the work behind the decks came naturally. Space, bass and place - thats the holy trinity of club music to him, and in the 9 years actively playing in clubs he restlessly tried to find and redefine his own style by connecting dots between tracks one might not see on first sight, making for exciting and emotionally dense DJ sets, stylistically laying somewhere between Dubstep, Breakbeat and UKG.

"this time on audio orbs, klympt is taking us w/ him 2go banana mode. swinging thru a heavy hitting selection between leftfield bass music, breaks + dubstep, he captures his spirit of the past weekend. this mix is as ecstatic + trippy as it is challenging."

We’re back. This time @klympt is taking over the decks, challenging himself to blend his oldschool dubstep roots with more contemporary influences. The result is a dynamic journey oozing with character and energy.

Get ready for Bass Combat!
And enjoy this one on a big soundsystem <3
