This is the Friday before our in-person #2026Embodied experience begins. This featured facilitator truly embodies the essence of growth through intentional cultivation. We are honored to support the initiatives of @soiltoself as the featured curriculum this year.

ā€œSoil to Self is a guided framework and workbook that integrates nature-based practices, reflective exercises, and evidence-informed psychological tools to support personal growth and emotional well-being. The work includes hands-on activities (such as grounding, floral-based healing, and journaling practices), structured group experiences, and ongoing research on the impact of nature-centered healing. The goal is to create accessible, culturally responsive pathways for individuals and communities to deepen self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and sustain growth over time.ā€

What if flourishing is something we cultivate?

There’s an idea at the heart of Soil to Self that I keep returning to: when a flower is struggling to grow, we rarely ask what is wrong with the flower. We examine the garden.

We look at the soil. The amount of sunlight. Whether it has enough water. What is growing around it. The climate it has been planted in. What it has been exposed to. What it might need in this particular season.

I think we deserve that same curiosity.

So much of Soil to Self has grown from thinking about the conditions we are asking ourselves—and one another—to live, grow, and flourish within.

What kind of soil are we planted in?
What is nourishing us?
What has depleted us?
Where do we feel rooted?
What relationships surround us?
What conditions are we creating in our homes, workplaces, communities, and relationships for people to actually thrive?

The Flourish Philosophy gives language to some of those conditions: awareness, acceptance, alignment, embodiment, belonging, reciprocity, flexibility, nature, purpose, and contribution.

And underneath them is the soil we inherit and inhabit: ancestry, culture, identity, community, history, place, spirituality, and ecology. All of it shapes how we grow and what flourishing can look like.

I’m becoming increasingly interested in what changes when we expand our gaze from the individual to the garden around them. When we become more intentional about cultivating environments that honor our humanity and support life.

Because sometimes the question isn’t simply, ā€œHow do I grow?ā€

It’s also, ā€œWhat am I being asked to grow in?ā€

And what might become possible if we tended to that, too?

the data from our Soil to Self pilot group is officially analyzed and the results are extremely promising.

this has been a long journey and mixed methods studies are extremely detailed.

while the results are preliminary, it makes my heart so happy to see the impact that the Soil to Self curriculum has the potential to make.

forever grateful for the pilot group & their engagement, commitment to this work. i couldn’t have done this without you!

full paper will be out soon!

co-creation ✨

got to have a meeting of the minds with my creative co-partner in Chicago this week and i’m leaving feeling so validated and inspired by this work.

soil to self has been so many years in the making and has taken many different forms… that process mirrors our own evolution.

we yapped. reminisced. belly laughed. took many psychological detours. planned. dreamed. leaned in. zoomed out.

while I’ve been socialized to believe that i could and should do everything alone… be independent. don’t trust anyone. the only way to do something well is to do it yourself..

i’m constantly reminded of the opposite. i need people. we need each other. we are an ecosystem.

symbiotic.

i don’t want to do this work alone. i actually can’t.

it’s too big for one person.

it’s actually going to take all of us.

but for now, me and @charlesmartianclark will do what we can to contribute to the collective wellbeing and liberation of all.

so grateful to have a partner in this work.

love you, Charles!! by @soiltoself

Soil to Self IRL

been so many magical things happening surrounding this work.

reconnecting with the pilot group participants and hearing/witnessing the impact the Soil to Self experience has had on them - a gift.

integrating nature-based healing practices into the academic space and also witnessing the experience of growth and healing and remembering that takes place when we slow down enough to feel. to ground ourselves in our present experience.

this work, something that existed once only at the cognitive, imaginative level is now being held in the most tangible, most real ways.

always in awe of the human potential to truly flourish.

just came here to say, i created something that’s going to heal the world.

i’m standing firm in that because God has been so clear in the messages i’m being sent.

my purpose is becoming so clear— clarity and alignment on why i’m here in this timeline… why i have the gifts that i have… the education.. the resources, the access…

the reach.

the community.

grateful to be the vessel of something so beautiful, so impactful.

let’s try something.

because so often, people see things in us that we might now notice within ourselves yet.

and that’s the beauty (and the vulnerability) of being in community.

to be seen.
held.
experienced.
perceived.

tag someone in the comments that you think might benefit from Soil to Self— a guided journey that will help lead them back to self.

could be someone going through a transition.
someone trying to welcome more rest in their lives.
someone tapping into their softness.
someone healing.
someone needing a reminder of who they are.
someone ready to go deeper with themselves.
someone who gives so much to everyone else but not themselves.
someone wanting to grow.
someone wanting to bloom.
someone wanting to move away from survival to thriving.
someone working on being their best, most full selves.

the first person that comes to mind when you read that, tag them.

let them know you see them.

I’ll take care of the rest šŸ˜‰ by @soiltoself

this is one of those moments where i’m pausing long enough to really look at what i’ve created…

because for a long time, this wasn’t ā€œsoil to selfā€ as you see it now.
it was a google doc.
a note.
an idea that wouldn’t leave me alone.

something i kept coming back to…
even when i didn’t have the capacity to fully hold it.

there were so many starts and stops.
moments of clarity, then long stretches of silence.
times where i questioned if i was the person to carry this at all.

and if i’m being truly honest with you…
i’ve been moving slow on purpose.

because this isn’t something i wanted to rush.

this work is too sacred for that.
too personal.
too real.

soil to self has honestly been growing at the same pace that i have.

requiring me to deepen, to stretch, to sit with myself longer than i’m comfortable sometimes.
to actually live the things i’m asking other people to step into.

and that kind of growth doesn’t happen overnight (i know we all wish it did).
it’s layered.
it’s nonlinear.
it’s quiet until it’s not.

what’s been most powerful goes beyond just creating the workbook (although that’s a testimony within itself)…
it’s witnessing what happens when people engage with it.

the breakthroughs.
the softness.
the honesty.
the way people are finding their way back to themselves, gently.

that’s when it really hit me that this work goes way deeper than something i created…

this is something i was entrusted with.

a divine calling if you will.

and i’m learning to honor that by taking my time.
by letting it unfold the way it’s meant to.
by not forcing it into timelines that don’t align.

because we can’t rush growth.
we must tend to it.

so this is me, in real time, still in process.
still becoming.
still trusting.

and deeply, deeply grateful
to everyone who has been a part of this—
whether you’ve supported, participated, poured into me, or simply witnessed.

we’re really out here doing the work.

and it’s changing lives… including mine.

it’s been a while 🌸

realizing that the last post was in November 2025 which explains so much as i’ve been on my own blooming, pruning, growing journey. it’s been profound (but that’s probably a conversation for a different day).

what i will share is that i’m proud of myself for making it back here… to this project… this vessel.

i’ve noticed a pattern where i start and birth something that i care deeply about and believe in wholeheartedly but then i allow other things to take priority over my own creative projects.

we can’t do everything.

and even if we try, something will suffer and get less of our energy because we have limited capacity.

and i’m personally done with half-assing things that deserve my full heart, attention and energy.

so I’ve taken some months to truly look inward, understand myself, my goals— the life i truly want to live.

been doing the Soil to Self work fr fr, IRL.

there’s been so much clarity.

and all the questions, reflections, frustrations, conversations, dreams all lead me back here… to this.. to Soil to Self.

as I’ve gained more clarity, it’s so clear to me that Soil to Self is my life’s work. whether it’s in workbook form or workshops or speaking engagements or community events or novels (more to come on that!)— Soil to Self is an embodiment of how i see, experience, and understand the word.

it’s my own personal framework. my personal philosophy about life. my theoretical orientation.

i truly live this and its been a beautiful guide to me on this thing called life.

so i say all of this to say… hey 😊

i’m here. i’m committed to this work.

i believe wholeheartedly in this work.

and i’m excited to keep being a vessel for Soil to Self to enter into this world, this plane.

thank you for being here 🌸 by @soiltoself
