POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This is the Friday before our in-person #2026Embodied experience begins. This featured facilitator truly embodies the essence of growth through intentional cultivation. We are honored to support the initiatives of @soiltoself as the featured curriculum this year.

“Soil to Self is a guided framework and workbook that integrates nature-based practices, reflective exercises, and evidence-informed psychological tools to support personal growth and emotional well-being. The work includes hands-on activities (such as grounding, floral-based healing, and journaling practices), structured group experiences, and ongoing research on the impact of nature-centered healing. The goal is to create accessible, culturally responsive pathways for individuals and communities to deepen self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and sustain growth over time.”

Drop your payment handles too and be a part of and a heart of building alternative economies with and for each other.

What we grow becomes a part of someone else’s roots in the future.

This world is loving & beautiful.
It is more loving, beautiful, more free and possible largely due to the creativity and the imaginations of Black people.

We who continue to build mutual aid to fill the gaps and resist what is fed to us as freedom often do this work while also needing the support too and figuring it out as we go with deep faith and courage.

Drop some handles of other Black people & businesses we can support today and everyday.

After many trials and tribulations, Episode 1 of Come, Sip with Me is live on YouTube 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 (@vineramazani you the MVP)

To @drthatgirl, thank you for sharing yourself, your space, your wisdom with me and the rest of the world. You inspire me so much to not only be a better human but a whole human, unafraid of being seen, fully.

If there is any takeaway I want people to get from you, it’s that vulnerability is not weakness. It allows us to choose ourselves and show up as our full selves and it gives others the permission to do the same and how we can truly show up for one another. That is community and connection!

If you haven’t already, subscribe to the Youtube channel (link in bio) and be sure to purchase Dr. Breigh’s workbook Soil to Self @soiltoself

There’s a quiet power
in showing up as your whole,
unfiltered self.

Beauty isn't in perfection—
it’s in presence,
in truth,
in simply being.

Every step we take
as our authentic selves
adds something irreplaceable
to the world.

You are not here by accident.

What you bring matters—deeply.

Next week, we have two phenomenal local authors coming to The Shop at MATTER!

On Friday, May 16th, Teow Lim Goh will be here to talk about their new Epic Poem, Bitter Creek, where they ask the question: What turns ordinary people into monsters?

The next day, we have Dr. Breigh Jones-Coplin coming to discuss, sign, and lead a workshop for her new book, Soil to Self. Oh, the joy of communal healing.
