i always liked making big pieces
every time is a challenge. every time is excitement
the moment when it feels it could fall. that’s when i feel it becomes alive
you have to move with it. feel it. understand how it dries and how it shifts
it’s messy and unpredictable
and that’s why it is so satisfying

i think the same goes for life..

it is not about controlling everything. it is about moving with what is. and finding beauty in the unexpected taken in Dubai, UAE by @soiostudio

Ampla 01 found its place in the @fronteriors studio in dubai. dark oak, soft linen, slow light. a quiet corner for a quiet piece

you can see it in person at their studio

nobody tells you that showing your work feels like letting someone read your diary. the hours spent touching clay into shape. the anticipation of opening the kiln. all of it held in one shape. exciting and exposing at once

there was a lot to say and no language ready for it. i’m used to experiencing the work, not explaining it. warm smiles helped. then someone asked the right kind of question, and i realized i know how to introduce her

corner shelves are something i can’t stop thinking about

i think of doing a collection of few, each on different shape, size and form. is it something you would like in your space?
