Hey there friends! These past few months I’ve been working on my first commissioned stop-motion animation short for children’s music artist, Uncle Jumbo ( @hellounclejumbo ). The short is for the song, Hit’em With The Joy, featured on his new album, Taste The Sky, released this past Friday, June 30. The animation short will be released later this month but we hope to send it to a few film festivals. More details to come!

The artist requested a beach theme and I don’t have a studio so I brought the beach to my living room. The coffee table provided just enough space to pull it all off. I thought I would share some bts and screen tests from scenes that will not be featured in the short. The finished short is in 16:9 format and features scenes with real sand and wind, an appearance by Mr. T, 16 dolls, and lots of little surprises! Enjoy this sneak peek!

This puffer vest is made entirely of plastic packaging bubbles collected from Amazon deliveries. It has pockets made from plastic sandwich bags and two buttons made of plastic wrap. Clear packing tape was used to secure everything in place. There were no patterns used as a guide and no sketch of the design was ever created. I don't measure anything I just let my eyes guide me and no dress form was used either. It was hung on a hanger as seen in my Instastories or laid flat on my bed to assemble. It took less than 30 hours to complete over the course of four days.

Why did I do this? Just to see if it could be done with what I had available. I knew it would be fun making this silly no-sew project and it was even more fun to wear!

One of the things that made this fun was using only what I had available from packing material found in boxes delivered to me. We’ll see if I can make a matching skirt or Palazzo pants to complete the look I have light stands being delivered today!😉

It was good. It was giving. I am gracious. It’s the first day of fall, but it's still summer in Texas. My summer was full! Too many wonderful moments to include them all, and some I was too present to capture. They will live in the soft places of my mind. Warm marshmallow memories. by @sojournals

I think I shot and edited this reel last summer and it was so long I never posted it. I actually forgot about but I watched it and enjoyed this little memory. I may or may not chop it down for better consumption, but if you have an appetite for longer content then you might enjoy this too.

Sit down with me while I share a few details about my design process for my stop motion sets. There are lots of creators who are attempting to achieve realism in their set design. I’m attempting surrealism with whimsy and symbolic pieces. This reel is long grab a snack!

The Capstone Classic Women’s Golf Clinic was a wonderful fun filled experience! I’ve never been a sports girlie but this might be a sport I can grow into with low impact on my knees. I’m not ready to get fitted for my first set of clubs yet but I’m encouraged to learn. I enjoyed the beautiful scenery most and the lovely people. Everyone was a friend of a friend, of a friend. Go Blue Team!
