Today’s spotlight: Gentle Thoughts by Sokeiprim 🖤

Next ep: today at 4pm 🕓 by @sokeiprim_

More postcards from the far north, featuring a church on the beach (2 and 4), half a day’s collection of plastic footwear (3) and inspiring friends (4) 🫶🌏🌴 by @sokeiprim_

Film captures from a week of learning on Thiithaarr and Guugu-Yimithirr Country, sifting through plastic deposited by the South Pacific Gyre and generated by the global maritime industries.

1. Art making by the fire
2. Metres or fishing net removed from the sand
3. 😍 🐾
4. Ocean debris, including a fridge door
5. Gretel during a windy lunch stop
6. Abby and I by the fire
7. Each feed bag can hold 1 cubic metre of waste. In the end there were over 20
8. ‘Fish Aggregating Device’ washed ashore. These units coordinate large, destructive fishing operations that float freely in the ocean and eventually wash ashore, or are collected with a net system full of marine wildlife which are caught indiscriminately - sold or left to die. by @sokeiprim_

$Recent ramblings on this precious Earth 🏕 Slides 4-5 are of 'a prayer for Takayna', a piece I entered into @bobbrownfoundation Art For Takayna exhibition in Nipaluna, and Slide 6 peeks at the next iteration of this work in progress. I was tossing between my anger at how we humans treat the nature we are a part of, and the joy of living to know this nature and respect it. Like you, I am also wondering why this app has such a grip on me in today's fractured world. Don't forget to do something that brings you closer to the nature we share. Don't forget about the people of Palestine who have been displaced from their land, who are facing a 77th year of genocide, and being starved and bombed by the Zionist entity and it's Western imperial guarantors. And speak truth into this algorithmic void! ☁️🪁 Every platform is a privilege. by @sokeiprim_$

A huge thanks to Joshua Searle for inviting me to design the soundscape for his Oro Vivo project, installed at the Frankston Arts Centre.

Vibrant work by @joshua_searle_art and incredible animation by @mickrussell_ for @southsidefestivalfrankston

postcards and sketches from a solemn and world-changing few days in Takayna with the @bobbrownfoundation #artfortakayna program.

14 artists and activists floated along maytim / arthur River in the northwest of Lutruwita / Tasmania, immersed in the wild nature and the painful tension of the native forests.

I'm looking forward to developing artistic response to this deep and insightful residency in the coming weeks and through my practice ongoing.

Endlessly grateful to guides Charley, Lorax and Damien and 11 other incredible participants including @gretelpetal_

So pleased to share with you all the latest Space Cast release…

This collaboration between visual artist Evie Cahir and DJ and artist Sokeiprim brings to mind a quiet river on a warm summer’s day, floating on the surface, the sun reflecting off the water like sparkles in the air. There’s a softness to this mixtape that’s much like a lullaby, with soft plucks on harp strings, and gentle taps on xylophone keys, and a watery texture beneath it all. It’s no wonder Evie Cahir’s visual response to this mixtape is the softest and most gentle mix of pastel tones that gently move and fade into each other.

Read more about the collaboration, purchase a limited edition print or mixtape download or listen to the mix via the link in our bio.
