SO IT TRANSMITS. LOQI × Anchorball Europe

Our second collaboration with @loqi sends Low Orbit City out into the world again.

Princess Queen Sol Joon @sol.kelleher stands beneath a split-second opening in the clouds as Willy, Gnash, Captain Halftone Von Lumen, Shreddy and Ghost Mawse Dave tumble through. They have a habit of appearing where you least expect them — in galleries, museums, city streets, or somewhere between a dream and waking up.

This time, you can carry the transmission with you.

The LOQI × Anchorball bag is made to move — filled with Low Orbit City, a little magic, and whatever else the day requires: jam from Marks & Spencer, chocolate croissants, ancient archaeological finds, or perhaps a few Unboxed Prizes.

You never really know what might turn up next.

Available now from @loqi.

I’LL FOLLOW THE SUN

The quoted scarab acquires four eyes and a passing resemblance to a band, introducing an inconvenient degree of humour into a form prepared for serious reception.

Repetition establishes familiarity; placement supplies gravity; a sufficiently extended interpretation completes the transition. Institutional temperature is maintained through generous spacing and sympathetic architecture. The figures look sideways, perhaps towards something omitted from the official account of their arrival.

Through a modest redistribution of eyes, these portraits consider the processes by which an image acquires the appearance of inevitability. Ripe (sic. Still Life with Attendants)

Value is a matter of who comes calling.
The attendants see what the audience misses.

BAGUETTE SHARK
LOW ORBIT CITY

Nobody knows which bakery he came from.
Every morning the first loaf out of the oven is missing.
He only smiles with gold teeth.

A place to pause. A place to meet.

We’re drawn to making sculpture that invites people in — places to gather, share a moment and feel part of something.

THE GIANT’S SIESTA / PROPOSAL FOR A PUBLIC SQUARE

A suite of monumental bronzes: a hand, a sandal, a foot, a pair of spectacles, a cup and saucer. The belongings of an absent giant, displaced into the plaza at the scale of architecture. Each object becomes a site of use: to sit, to lean, to pass through, to gather. The work treats the common space as a shared stage, where the encounter between strangers completes the sculpture.
Humour as an entry point. Presence as the material.
