CURIOUS ART JOURNEY — THE JOURNEY CONTINUES

Looking back on an extraordinary summer at Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, Ontario, where Curious Art Journey brought an unexpected world of sculpture, imagination, and discovery into the gardens.

One of the greatest rewards has been seeing how people connected with the work — the laughter, curiosity, photographs, conversations, and personal stories. Watching children, families, and visitors of all ages discover these characters in their own way has been especially meaningful.

My sincere thanks to everyone at Royal Botanical Gardens for believing in the vision and being such wonderful collaborators, and to everyone who visited and made the exhibition part of their summer.

As we look ahead to the next venues, I’m excited to see these sculptures continue their journey, finding new landscapes, new audiences, and new stories along the way.

This is only the beginning.

Crude Awakenings

Crude Awakenings is an evolving series of sculptural installations examining the intersections of natural history, industrialization, and the human appetite for power and progress.

Through juxtapositions of prehistoric life, ancient civilizations, military machinery, and the infrastructure of oil extraction, the works collapse geological and historical time into a series of imagined landscapes.

At once playful and unsettling, the installations invite reflection on humanity’s relationship with the natural world, the mythology of progress, and the impermanence of civilization itself.

The Hidden Room of Low Orbit City
2026

Behind the giant rainbow keyhole lies a secret chamber few ever find — a glowing passage hidden between this world and Low Orbit City. The key itself was left behind centuries ago by Princess Queen Sol Joon, who believed imagination should never be locked away forever. Those who discover the portal enter a living dreamscape where neon forests hum with energy, butterflies carry messages between dimensions, and the residents of Low Orbit City gather beneath endless electric skies.

Inside, the walls pulse like thought itself. Cosmic creatures wander freely. Ancient mascots, wandering travelers, flower spirits, and strange beings from forgotten corners of the universe meet here in quiet celebration. Some come to rest. Others come searching for inspiration before drifting back into the human world disguised as ideas, stories, toys, paintings, architecture, and sculpture.

The room only appears for brief moments — usually during electrical storms, periods of emotional overload, or moments of childlike wonder. Most people walk past it without ever noticing. But every once in a while, someone sees the glow inside the keyhole and realizes Low Orbit City has been visiting us all along.

The City Is Looking For Somewhere To Land

Low Orbit City drifts on a long cloud between night and day. Every so often it descends on a place, the residents step off, and for a season that place is somewhere else.

It landed once this year, in a garden in Canada. Twenty-two monumental works, six more hidden in the air, and the turnout multiplied.

Now it’s looking at screens that wrap a whole room. At terraces above the sea. At atriums with waterfalls. At your district, your mall, your waterfront.

If you run a place that lives on footfall and attention, this is a world built to bring people in, keep them there, and send them home with a photo. My studio has done it on four continents in steel and fibreglass. We’re the team to accelerate it on yours.

Queen Princess Sol Joon, Skeebo and Merle know it’s never a waste of time to spend time with ghosties, cats and flowers. In facts they are the gatekeepers to many magical places and beings.

Who will steer the ship when all are adrift?

It’s the end of the world as we know it.

How do you do?

Ghosties Ascension

Somewhere deep inside the inside-out vortex of Rock Man’s mind, where thoughts fold into themselves and gravity has apparently lost its jurisdiction, Ghostie found himself rising toward the sky like a helium balloon, uncertain whether he was escaping, ascending, or simply being carried away by a particularly strange idea.
