**{ Presente Cedido }** ~ A época festiva é uma altura para reconhecer todas as pessoas que nos apoiam na nossa vida. Aquelas pessoas que nos visitam quando temos um dia difícil, que nos fazem as nossas comidas favoritas, que nos enviam uma mensagem, um cartão ou uma canção atenciosa, ou que nos proporcionam um espaço seguro para sermos nós próprios. Infelizmente, a época festiva também pode ser uma fonte de stress e/ou de dor. Penso naqueles que estão a passar a época sozinhos, que lutam com a sua saúde mental, que sofreram a perda de um ente querido, uma mudança numa relação, uma doença, memórias dolorosas associadas às épocas festivas ou a perda de um emprego. And here she is. My first tattoo after losing the vision in my left eye. I quickly discovered that I had to create a new way to place dots as my usual way no longer worked for me. Slowly I placed each dot, and as I the flower came to form, so did my new technique. How fitting my first tattoo would be a flower. Being patient is easier said than done. Recovering from losing the vision in my left eye was a long process. I did not know what to expect, but whatever expectations I had of myself, I had to shift. Parts of me are still recovering. Living a synchronized life with Nature means my New Year does not begin until the Spring Equinox. As winter brings rest for plants, animals, and insects, I follow their lead and lean into the slowness. To sleep a little earlier or later, to stay home when I feel the need, to create a cozy, warm space with fire and soothing garden teas, to go inward, to read more, journal more, to resist the urge to push myself when my body asks for rest. Each Spring, time and time again, I feel the shift. I suppose the same one seeds may feel after dormancy. An increase of energy rising from within. I know it is coming and there is no reason to rush myself now. So I will wait for the cyclical rhythm of Nature to guide me. I’ll be gentle with myself and wait for the burst of energy Spring brings. At the end of January, I had an injury to my eye that had life as I knew it come to a halt. With the sudden loss of the vision in my left eye,I could no longer function in the life I had created. The view from my window during that time was of barren, brown landscape. Something I felt I could relate to. As months passed, I slowly made progress, and the view out my window was looking more green and full of life. In these gardens, I am reminded of my healing. Like the plants that started out as seeds, I, too, have felt like a seed in the dark waiting for the right time to transform. I watched Myself right alongside the Plants transform at a slow and steady pace: a process that cannot be rushed or forced. From darkness to light. From seed to bloom.
