Many of us are carrying a great deal right now, both collectively and personally. Grief, uncertainty, and the feeling that the ground beneath us is shifting.

Here in Portugal there is still a tender process of healing after recent natural disasters. And this month I also lost someone who meant a great deal to me, my mentor Dr. Benjamin Mijuskovic.

He was truly one of the only reasons I made it through graduate school, which was a difficult time for me on multiple levels. You know when someone really and truly sees you, and recognizes your gifts? He was that person for me.

His home was a museum and so were his heart and soul. We would talk for hours about philosophy, life, and the human condition. I am deeply grateful our paths crossed, and grateful that his daughter carries his beautiful energy forward in the world. May he rest in power.

Hug the souls you love. Tell them how much they mean to you ❤️

Moments like this remind me how important it is to care for the parts of ourselves that hold these experiences. Our bodies carry our stories, our grief, our memories, and our meaning.

So many people living with chronic illness are told a story of inevitability. That symptoms will progress. That the nervous system cannot change. And then we remember, the body is not just chemistry and pathology. It is also story, symbol, memory, and meaning.

Our bodies speak in a symbolic language that reflects the dynamic relationship between our inner world and the outer one. When we begin to listen to that language, we step into a different kind of healing. One that includes imagination, soul, and possibility.

Even when life asks us to hold difficult truths, we can still cultivate new visions for ourselves and our bodies by tending to the nervous system and caring for the body that carries our soul.

The photos and videos here are small ways I have been tending to my heart, my mind, my soul, and my body this month… Radical self-care, nourishment, hands in the dirt, laughter, music, nature, human touch, animals, community, hot springs, por siempre.

Is this reality or a dream?! 😍

My life feels like an absolute fairytale right now, in a slightly unbelievable, nonsensical way. So here’s a little slice of birthday memories for us all to look back on in a few decades from now, when we'll still be living out our wild, surreal, creative, happy lives. 🔥

“Grateful” doesn’t even begin to cover how I feel for the magical beings I get to call family and friends. Each one of you is so uniquely you and out-of-this-world…

💭 Disclaimer, here comes some rambling / public journaling:

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the power of celebration itself. It’s taken years to understand that celebrating life—truly, deeply—is a real skill and one I’ve come to treasure in myself. And I don’t mean “celebration” in the superficial sense, as just an excuse for mindless, numbing entertainment. No, I mean the kind of celebration that’s intentional, that takes presence and practice. Living with passion, honouring life’s magic with reverence, gratitude, pleasure, and devotion.🕯️

I suppose that’s why I host events as part of my work and life: to bring people together, cultivate a sense of belonging, create community, remember the power that lies in collective action, acknowledge change, and bring depth and meaning to each experience. 🦋

For me, celebration is a form of ritual—a pause in life that honours the past, welcomes the future, and ultimately brings us back to the present. These moments punctuate life’s rhythm, helping us integrate and realign. 🏹

So here’s to many more years of gathering, dancing, and celebrating life in all its wild beauty. 💃🐺

And a little (self-)reminder: your life today is someone else’s dream. Embrace every moment, and celebrate the magic all around you. Even the simplest days are a gift. Let’s be thankful for each one—and for each other. 💫
