POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
The vibe I’m on lately:

Sunshine whenever possible, good wine, & better conversation. 🍷

A love of adventure that hasn’t dimmed one bit since my 20s. Where shall I go next??? ✨✨🌎
And what should I eat there??

Coffee dates that turn into three-hour conversations because we both had more to say about alllll the things.

Family dinners with delicious food that get silly and completely full of love.

Gardens, and more coffee, and loving style, and Stella kitty sitting on my book… because I love a good cuddle and reading 10 books at once.

Believing, still, after everything, that love is worth staying open for ~ mine, my friends’, my clients’.

A life that’s already full, and still has room to be delighted by more.

This is the energy I bring into coaching too.

Not “fix yourself first.”

Just: come as you are, let’s have some fun finding out what’s possible. ✨

P.S. I share exclusive content in my emails ~ come join Field Notes on Delight ~ where we talk more about love, luck, & luscious living.

If there’s one thing practicing A Little Love Affair with Life has taught me, it’s that the adventure doesn’t have to be big.

It just has to be yours, this week, on your own terms. ✨

Swipe through for a few ways to practice it, no matter how full or quiet your week already is.

Save this for the week ahead ~ and drop a 🌕 in the comments if one of these is calling your name.

And if you want more inspo, comment DELIGHT below and I’ll invite you to my 2-week free email guide to your own Little Love Affair with Life. by @solandheart

There’s a story that got handed to you ~ probably before you were old enough to question it.

A full life looks like: partner, home, family. In “that” order. On “that”timeline. You know how it goes.

And if you arrived at your 40s without checking all those boxes... the story has a word for that.

It calls it a gap. Suggests you might be … lacking. 🙃

I want to offer you something different. ⚡️

The story was never yours. It was assembled from fairy tales and family dinners and a hundred small moments where someone’s eyes slid past the single woman at the table like she was a problem that hadn’t been solved yet.

You absorbed it. Of course you did. We all did.

What I keep seeing ~ in my work, and in my own life ~ is that the story doesn’t just create loneliness. It creates a particular kind of waiting. A low hum of not-yet-ness that colors everything. The trip you haven’t booked. The table for one you feel vaguely ashamed of. The apartment that’s yours and beautiful and somehow still feels like it needs a second person in it to count.

That’s the cost nobody talks about.

And the rewrite isn’t about deciding you don’t want love anymore. You do. That’s real. I’m not going to ask you to talk yourself out of it.

The rewrite is about seeing the story clearly enough to stop letting it run the show.

Because you are not a gap in someone else’s narrative.

You are love. Right now. In this life. In this moment. No matter what timeline you’re on. ✨

The longing and the aliveness get to exist at the same time. Both things, all at once.

You don’t have to choose between wanting a relationship and being your own Happily Ever After.

That’s what I’m here to tell you. 🤍

Who handed you your timeline? 👀

Was it your parents, your church, the movies, your friend group’s wedding season?

Naming where the script came from is the first step to rewriting it. There are a lot of reasons why we got handed a timeline, but it’s time to start questioning it.

If this landed, comment DELIGHT & I’ll send you an invitation to Field Notes on Delight, my weekly letter for smart single babes over 40 who still believe in love. ✨ by @solandheart

Urgency dating sounds like:
Is he the one?
Does he tick the boxes?
Is this going somewhere?

And suddenly you're not on a date. You're conducting a performance review ~ of him, of yourself, of the whole evening.

Curiosity dating sounds like:
I wonder what he's passionate about.
I wonder what made him who he is.
I wonder if I even like him. 😁

That second version changes the whole experience.

When I'm curious, I'm present. I'm IN the conversation instead of hovering above it, running the math.

I notice things ~ how he talks about his work, whether he asks follow-up questions, whether he makes me laugh without trying.

I'm not auditioning him or myself. We're two humans at coffee, and I'm actually paying attention.

Curiosity isn’t a trick or a technique. It’s what being open to delight feels like before you know where something is going.

The dates that felt most alive were the ones where I wasn’t holding the outcome so tightly.

You can still want love. You can still hope this one is different. The wanting just doesn’t need to sit at the table like a third guest. 😉

You are *already* beloved. You don’t have to chase it down over appetizers. 🤍

Next date, see if you can take a deep breath and be curious about the other person without attaching to an outcome.

Ask curious questions (instead of interview questions) and see what opens.

A little truth-tell before you swipe 🤍

The waiting room is real. I’ve sat in it. You pick up a magazine, tell yourself it won’t be long now, and keep glancing at the door.

Meanwhile, your actual life is happening out in the lobby. The good dinners, the trips, the Thursday nights that could be gorgeous if you let them count.

This carousel is about walking out of the waiting room and into the main event, without giving up on love for one second.

So tell me: what’s one thing you’ve been saving “for when they show up”? 👇

The bed frame? The trip? The kitchen remodel?
Let’s stop saving it. ✨

Someone asked me how to deal with a scarcity mindset about dating, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. 🤍

I know the fear underneath this ~ what if I rest, and time passes, and I run out of time to find love?

But there’s no version of forcing yourself onto Hinge exhausted that gets you there “faster.”

Depleted dating doesn’t save time ~ it just makes the whole process take longer, because you’re not actually present for any of it.

You’re tired. Pause. Take some space for you. And then let’s see how you feel. 🤍

Somewhere along the way, longing got treated like a problem to solve. A sign you’re not okay…

But longing for partnership isn’t weak.

The wanting is not weakness.

Your desires are wisdom for you.

It’s your own aliveness, pointing at something.

Not proof you’re incomplete ~ proof you’re still open and listening to your heart.

So instead of trying to talk yourself out of wanting love, or numbing it, or deciding you’ll deal with it later ~ what if you just held it?

Just held it in your heart. The way you’d hold friend who told you something tender and true.

Your longing is a compass.

And you get to want what you want, fully, while still being, right now, exactly as you are. ✨

Here’s to honoring our longing, my friend. 🤍

But it’s actually something you bring WITH you. 🤍

You keep thinking you need to do more inner work before you’re ‘allowed’ to date again.

I want to gently push back on that. 🤍

I deleted the dating apps (allll of them!) SO many times because they felt like such a bummer.

Turns out, the apps were never *really* the problem. I have more to say about this… but one thing that really didn’t help was the mindset I developed towards them.

Swipe through for what actually shifted things for me ~ pulling from my time as a matchmaker (yes, that’s a real thing I did). 🤍
