I left Ireland in the early hours this morning, driving through thick fog and circling the airport for nearly an hour trying to find the rental car drop off. It’s like my trip was holding on - and the faeries kept turning me around as one last mischievous reminder that, “When the fog rolls in, that’s when the faeries come.” (As told to me by an elder Newfoundlander). Hard to sum up my trip with a word or phrase - but the closest I can get is draíocht (magic). More photos coming soon- but this batch includes some images from throughout my one month stay and exploring with @solandheart when she was here over Christmas. I hadn’t been to Ireland since before the pandemic (which now serves as this marker of time for me). I was worried that Ireland might break my heart like Alaska did - I’m still masking indoors and in crowded outdoor spaces. But, just as I remember, I was met with kindness and compassion everywhere I went. I’ll be sharing more images and info about my glorious residency at @olivestackgallery soon.

The first photo is from Inch Beach. Olive from @olivestackgallery and I went there on New Year’s Day to walk on the beach and do some combing and we’re met with the most stunning sun.

Other images include Torc Waterfall in Killarney, a magical bookshop in Kildare, An Diseart Gardens in Dingle, the sunrise from my kitchen window, and my lovely cottage. Other images sprinkled in as well.

Ya know how in Sex and the City, Carrie’s greatest love story is actually with New York City? Well, for me, it’s Ireland.
