The Solarez Europe family keeps growing. Today we are thrilled to announce a new great addition to our group of Pro fly tiers. William Eadie from Scotland accepted to join us and we are excited for this.
Bill is a 55 years old Scottish fly tier who has impressed us for his quick growing skills in fly tying and his enthusiasm. He loves grayling fishing and the big browns of his local rivers (we share this love as well) such as Clyde and Tweed, and he mainly fishes euro nymph style with flies ranging from 12 to 20 in size. He really likes to experiment with materials and he always search to make tying quicker, easier and more realistic, trying to keep tying time per fly to 5 to 10 mins maximum. by @solarezflytying

UV-CURE FLY-TIE FISHING PRO ROADIE KIT

All three of our Solarez fly-tie UV resins; Thin-Hard, Thick-Hard, & FLEX formulas. Each comes in a 1 oz bottle with cone-cap applicator tip – ample for many lures. Also included is a UV-Cure High Output flashlight with optimal wavelength. (this flashlight takes two (2) CR123 Lithium batteries or one (1) 18650 Lithium Ion battery – not included)

Usage Tip:
Apply in shade. Irradiate with intense UV light for ONE SECOND. Wait 15 seconds. Irradiate again for one second. Wait. Complete with 30 full seconds UV light. This technique will reduce heat & shrinkage.

Differences and details about the torches contained in our kits:
The “Resinator” is a kit with a flashlight, battery and charger. The “High-Output” Torch is in fact, the same torch that is in the Resinator kit. It has a very strong 2.5” diameter beam. It also has a second “click” function where it pulses at 1-second intervals. It is a great way to rapidly cure some of Solarez’ hottest resins while not accumulating as much heat which causes yellowing or distortion. Of course, you can always attenuate light yourself by moving the flashlight but the pulse function is a nice automated feature.

All three of our Solarez fly-tie UV resins; Thin-Hard, Thick-Hard, & FLEX formulas. Each comes in a 5-gram tube (1/10 oz) with applicator tip – ample for many lures. Also included is a UV Very High Output flashlight with optimal wavelength. (this flashlight takes one “AA” battery, not included.) Usage tip:
Apply in shade. Irradiate with intense UV light for ONE SECOND. Wait 15 seconds. Irradiate again for one second. Wait. Complete with 30 full seconds UV light. This technique will reduce heat & shrinkage.

The “Pro Roadie” kit has a very good Torch in it, but not as powerful as the Resinator torch yet it does still use the same 3.7V 18650 battery (although it does not come with a battery) it could use two CR-123 batteries, available at most pharmacies or hardware stores, most markets too. It has a powerful beam of about 2” – very adequate.

The “Roadie” kit contains a small but powerful flashlight that uses a single AA battery. It has a focal point of about 1/2 the area of the other two torches but that area (about 1” diameter) is larger than most areas you will probably ever cure at one time. AA batteries are inexpensive rechargeability to come by.

Glows in the dark for enhanced night fishing

Glows intensely at night, especially if irradiated with our UV flashlight for a couple of seconds. Glow lasts several minutes and is very conspicuous.

Product tip:

FLY-TIE THIN-HARD FORMULA

Thin – Hard Formula is approximately the same viscosity as 30 wt. motor oil. It is easy to apply a thin, shellac-like clear coat that will cure in seconds when irradiated with sunlight or our UV flashlight. This product is a very durable aliphatic urethane which characteristically does not yellow with age.

SOLAREZ FLY-TIE COLORS

Solarez Colored resin families:

FLUORESCENT Family:
Translucent, wildly bright colors that further fluoresce in daylight and are vivid even in dim light.

INTERFERENCE PIGMENT FAMILY

Outstanding for hot spots / trigger points.

Interference pigments have more pronounced effect over darker colors, however pearl over white has a nice effect too.

Usage tip: UV curing of color resins is always better when done in thinner applications. If mass is desired, do so with Solarez THICK or MEDIUM first, then color over that. All resins are compatible and stick well to each other
