Sole is a creative design studio intent on shaping space through experimentation across multiple mediums, starting from material and graphic forms. Guided by a sense of relaxed thinking, Sole aims to infiltrate and merge diverse realities by connecting creatives, activating projects, and bringing them into our ‘sun’.

At Sole, we believe ideas—and the design process that follows—should emerge from a place of tranquillity and calm, rather than the hyper-productivity of the fast-paced environments we’ve grown accustomed to today. We find this mindset under the sun.

Relik — Domestic Spirit Vol.001

On Thursday, Relik launched its first collection, Domestic Spirits, featuring five sculptural candles. Each one corresponds to a moment of the day, a season, an archetype, and a distinct atmosphere.

The exhibition design amplifies the candles’ silhouettes, playing with their shadows through a careful study of lighting to enhance their spiritual presence.

“An Ecology of Beasts”, a project by @common.index took place in Piazza Morbegno, Milan at @t_x_t_studio with exhibition design by @sole.sole.studio

The exhibition revisits medieval bestiaries as speculative systems for collective making. Video works developed through an open call coexist within a shared environment, without hierarchy or fixed narration, allowing differences to remain visible and active rather than reduced. Alongside them, an interactive and generative installation responds to presence, movement, and sound, shaping the spatial and environmental conditions through which the environment is collectively inhabited.

All projects were showcased on various monitors, mounted on two metal structures specifically designed by Sole° for the event and its spatial context. The system was conceived as a flexible framework using a limited set of construction materials, capable of shaping and framing the collective body of works across the 16 sqm exhibition space. Complimenting the main structures were a custom DJ booth and a pink lighting system.

For “An Ecology of Beasts”, a project by Common Index, we designed the exhibition space: a 16 sqm room with at its center a 2.3 × 2.4 m metal framework that serves as the primary support for a series of devices, accompanied by a custom-built DJ booth.

The main structure is built from standard drywall profiles configured as a folding screen through a system of quarter-circle frames. These frames suspend 11 monitors and 2 iPads, generating a composition that is formally simple yet intentionally chaotic. In parallel, a secondary metal grid structure, fabricated from a reclaimed metal panel, carries 2 iPhones, a monitor, and a 50-inch television. The remaining profiles are integrated in the DJ booth enclosure. The installation was illuminated by a custom-designed pink lighting system.

Design and event production for The North Face SS26 press day in Milan.

Every element was designed specifically for the event — from the hanging metal structures and footwear displays to the lighting system.
Our goal was to create a cohesive, functional setup while minimizing waste: the modular system, in part designed with reclaimed materials, can be dismantled in all its parts, reused, and easily transported in a standard car by two people.
