If you’ve ever lost a parent.. then you simply know. I have now lost BOTH.

If you lost a parent that you carefully curated and shaped your identity from the greatness and gratitude that made them who they are/were and used it as fuel .. then you REALLY KNOW..

I didn’t have the capacity to discuss it fully this past summer.. because my father passed away June 28th, 2025, just 3 weeks after my grandmother’s funeral.. and was followed closely by my nephew Shaquille (2 days later on June 30th) ..

My father - Milton Bernard Bailey was an upright, still, but MIGHTY warrior for Christ and was a funny and humble servant of people. He spent two tours in Vietnam and dedicated his life fully and wholly to God after miraculously making it back to U.S. soil at 19 years old.

My father, Milton.

He dedicated his life after Vietnam to skillful education under the G.I. Bill - Earning Degrees From The University Of Montevallo and Case Western Reserve University, while aiding and providing resources to veterans, Like Himself as an administrator for the V.A. He opened more than a dozen Vet Centers, to ensure veterans like himself had access to benefits to put their lives back on track.

He sang.. and he sang and sang.. (Tenor) And Made Sure God Knew He Was His Consummate Companion Daily. He Fortified My Sister and I and all that he met, knew and encountered with the counsel and word of God.

For that and MUCH MORE; I’m GRATEFUL.

There will never be another like you.. and with that I find comfort.

Today on what is your 80th Birthday.. I say Thank you, I Love You and I’m fired up by every word in every prayer you spoke over me. (& the words that were not prayers, too). 🤣
