Momma tiiiired ….I always say “one for the books”… but this time it was literally for the books. College books, that is. 📚My son URV, “Cinco,” is officially a freshman in college. #Bison
We had the honor of moving him into his dorm this weekend and I am not exaggerating when I say I did the absolute most… multiple trips, furniture, wallpaper, scrubbed that room down too to bottom myself, the family and I made sure he had everything he needed to start this chapter right. Bittersweet doesn’t even cover it. I cried before I left home. I cried on the way back. But I couldn’t be prouder watching him step into an HBCU, into his own life, into a future that’s completely his to build. I always tell my boys the world is their oyster… they just have to focus and go get it. Watching him actually do it? There’s nothing like it. Proud Momma moment doesn’t begin to cover this one. 🎓❤️🦬🙏🏾

FYI: I remember staring in the window at the daycare when he was a baby, after I dropped him off for a week straight. OK now I’m crying again. 🥹

Sunday in DC hit different. Started with brunch, then took it over to The Park after, my first time there, and it was just good friends, good food, and good energy all around. And I have to say it… shout out to Marc Barnes, because those jerk wings‼️‼️‼️🤌🏾 are hands down the BEST I’ve ever had in my life! and I’m a real chicken eater. But I will never get over them.

Life is truly about the memories and the moments, the people who show up for you, the food & music worth talking about, the afternoons that stretch out slow and easy. You only get one life. Might as well live it like this. 🙏🏾☀️

Chile… DeKalb County said the minimum wage going up and I had QUESTIONS. 😭 Jesus be a whole fence because these bills out here are still bill’n!

Earlier this week I had the honor of hosting a fundraiser for @jasmineforus U.S. Senate campaign alongside some incredible co-hosts—huge thank you to each of you for showing up and standing firm.

And let me be clear: I felt called to do something. The racial dog-whistling around her so-called “electability” was loud, tired, and very unserious—especially in a state that last turned blue statewide for a woman who was just as vibrant, bold, and unapologetically herself.

Folks was really talking cash money nonsense on her name. So we responded the only way that matters: with action and a bag.

My message to anyone sitting on the sidelines this primary is simple—pick your candidate and stand ten toes down for them. Have their back. All the way. ✊🏾💰
