‼️‼️We're excited to announce our current Water Sovereignty Project in Gaza!‼️‼️

Currently, hundreds of families in Gaza are being denied access to clean, fresh water, as 90% of water infrastructure in Gaza has been systematically damaged or destroyed, and 82% of families are currently water-insecure (UNICEF). Israel continues to block the entry of essential supplies such as water desalination units, water-treatment chemicals, and water tanks. It continues to bomb water desalination tanks and other infrastructure that may provide clean water access to those in need. Through this campaign, we aim to return agency to the Palestinian people most affected by these crises.

We are working with a team on the ground in Gaza that owns a water tanker and uses it to distribute water to families without access to it. The water costs approximately $500, and each distribution provides clean water to around 150 families. Our role is to help fund it and eventually help finance the construction of a water pipe that will create permanent, systematic access to clean water.

Please support these efforts by donating to the Chuffed campaign or by joining our WhatsApp group❤️🇵🇸

This Tuesday, we met in partnership with @solidaritea4pal, whose current campaign involves mutual aid donations to families in Gaza and a water sovereignty project to eventually help fund the construction of a water salination plant.

This conversation set the stage for a screening of Land of Canaan at @matthaeinichols. We were joined by key contributors of the film, including Dr. Nasser Abufarha, who led the movement to organize Palestinian olive farmers into collective fair-trade networks in the face of genocide, ecocide, and cultural erasure.

Thank you to the amazing community that came together this week in contributing to our vision for how we can contribute to land sovereignty + stewardship, sustainability, and a free Palestine. by @solidaritea4pal

Join us on Thursday, September 24th from 6:00-7:30pm for the first SolidariTea Tea Time of the school year! 💂‍♀️🧐☕️

In the coming months, we will work with a team on the ground in Gaza who will distribute water to hundreds of families who currently have little to no clean water access. Our eventual goal is to undertake the construction of a water pipe that will create a permanent, systematic solution to this problem.

If you are interested in working hand in hand with Palestinians in Gaza, supporting and contributing to their rebuilding efforts, and bridging the gap between our communities through direct contact, then stop by for a cup of tea! Dinner will also be provided. Scan the QR code to fill out the RSVP form or click the link below:

ANNOUNCING SOLIDARITEA CHICAGO

We are beginning a new chapter of SolidariTEA in Chicago to grow our solidarity with the steadfast Palestinians in Gaza and support families during the ongoing zionist genocide. While we view fundraising as distinct from building power through organizing, we acknowledge the responsibility of those in the imperial core to financially support Palestinians and all peoples who persevere through imperialist violence.

If you are interested in joining the fundraising effort, scan the QR code above or visit bit.ly/steachicago, and feel free to DM us!
