At SOME, we support our neighbors by focusing on the whole person. Our daytime program, ABLE (After Breakfast Lateral Engagement), offers adults a welcoming space to connect with community, build skills, and access resources.

From computer classes and job readiness support to creative activities and case management, ABLE helps neighbors take steps toward stability and opportunity.
Hear from ABLE clients about what that support means in their day-to-day lives. Your donations and your time make this work possible.

Thank you for standing with our neighbors. by @some_dc

Catch up with SOME in the community. From sharing our mission and programs with Altria employees as they assembled 100 grooming kits for our guests, to connecting with neighbors at community days in Ward 8 and Capitol Heights, we’re grateful for every opportunity to build partnerships, share resources, and strengthen our impact across the region. by @some_dc

20 of our Center for Employment Training building trades trainees got something most people never experience, a behind-the-scenes tour of the @CapitalOne Arena renovation project. Led by professionals from ClarkBuilds Construction Group and @Monumental_Sports & Entertainment, the trainees walked active job sites, saw how skilled trades work together, and explored parts of the arena few people ever see.

But more than that, they saw what their future could look like. Hands-on learning like this is how we bridge the gap between the classroom and real careers. Thanks to Clark Construction Group for making this possible. by @some_dc

When kids have housing stability, supportive adults, and a community that shows up for them, everything changes.

We are so grateful to USAC, Affinity Nonprofits, Huntington T. Block, @consigliconstruction, Ian H. Graham Insurance, and Farmer Mac for donating backpacks and resources to the families we serve.

Want to support families this back-to-school season? Donate to @some_dc’s A Stable Home for a Strong Start at some.org/stability.

Thank you to our partners for leading the way. by @some_dc

Farmer Mac showed up in a big way for SOME families this back-to-school season! Their team fulfilled our school supply wish list and donated 270 backpacks , helping students start the year with the tools they need to learn and thrive.
And their support goes far beyond back-to-school. Throughout the year, Farmer Mac employees have also assembled grocery bags for SOME housing residents and professional development kits for students at the SOME Center for Employment Training.

We’re so grateful for Farmer Mac’s continued partnership and commitment to showing up for our community all year long! 💙 by @some_dc

The 2026 PIT Count is in, and the data is clear: the need in our city is growing. 5,363 people were counted experiencing homelessness in DC this year, a nearly 5% increase from 2025. Family homelessness rose by 16%. Behind every number is a neighbor in need.

Swipe through to understand what the data means and what SOME is tackling moving forward. Learn more at SOME.org. by @some_dc
