It is with much sadness we announce the passing of Hambone the Crestie. 9 years old, she passed before her time, but gave us lots of entertainment while here. Adopted in 2017, Hambone lived in Kentucky, Illinois, and then Kentucky again. She survived many trips to GSA, long-stays with friends, and her mortal enemy, Jalma. She was fierce, often jumping at him when he got too close like she was gonna win the fight.

Hambone is survived by her parents, Brittany and Sav, her brother Jalma, and sisters Viola and Fiddle (who probably didn’t know she existed). Interment will be Monday, Oct. 5, in the ground. In lieu of flowers, please visit the next Lexington Reptile Expo and get a crestie in her memory. by @someonesgottaclap

Y’all help me wish my beautiful wife Savannah Marie Turpin a very happy 33rd birthday!! The best decision I ever made was marrying her. She continues to calm me, guide me, support me, make me laugh, and love me unconditionally. The unconditional part is a testament to her patience, let me tell ya! She’s 9 years younger than me by years, but about 15 years older than me in maturity. Thank you Savvy T for loving me! I love you! 💕❤️ by @someonesgottaclap

GSA WEEK 3: • final day started with one of my top 5 Elvis songs and a FREE accidental coffee from Biggby!

Week 2 of GSA was a blur. My worst fear was realized - a death in the family during the program. Torn between my family and my GSA family, I did my best this past week to try to stay focused on the task at hand. Ignore the amount of coffee I drank to stay focused.

Tuesday: This was my 3rd, 4th, and 5th espresso shot of the day by 10:30am. 🫠

Yoga with Dr. Lazzeri was a blessing bc she’s wonderful and watching these kids attempt some poses brought some much needed giggles. 🤭

This is my new cover photo after GSA is over.

I literally couldn’t have made it through this past week without these beautiful, supportive, wonderful people, my GSA faculty family.

Also I saw The Lion King musical for the first time and cried five times.

And then there was a TORNADO WARNING!!!! Your favorite amateur meteorologist Brittany Benningfield DMA kicked into action.

This was the highlight of my week - giving my smorg presentation on Elvis that I’d been working on for months!

I just love this mural in downtown Cinci. All my fave colors.

Jalma was not pleased that I was trying to watch the new season of House of Dragon and not attend to his every need. by @someonesgottaclap
