Sweeney Todd is the most difficult role I have ever had the pleasure of performing. Without question. Vocally, emotionally, and physically I was constantly pushed to go deeper and deeper, bringing the cold psychopath that is Sweeney to life. I have never felt more rewarded for hard work than I do now. Over the entirety of this last year I have been exploring Sweeney with the incredible cast and crew on this production, and with my own team. Special thanks to Vincent DeGeorge, Ian Axness and Elliot Madore, for giving me so many tools to conquer this beast, and to the best stage companion ever, Claire strong. Her Mrs. Lovett is legendary and she is such a tremendous stage partner, I couldn’t have done it without her! I am so eternally grateful for this show, I have learned so much and made so many new friendships. Sweeney has been a gift that I will always cherish, and I cannot wait to dive back into it some day in the future! With all the love in my heart, thank you @uc_ccm and every single person involved in our production for a fabulous experience! 💙💙🪒🪒🥧🥧

What am I thankful for? I sat here for a long time trying to find the answer and I remembered the amazing people I surround myself with. There’s a few specific messages I want to give out here so keep reading and I promise if you weren’t tagged it’s bc I couldn’t tag anymore people. Anyway.
Opportunities: lord I’ve had so many wonderful opportunities some of which I don’t deserve. I have had the chance to become the best I can be multiple times over and for that I am blessed.
Lena: I don’t think I can explain how much you mean to me. Every day I get up and go to school because I know you’ll be there. I love you.
Gabe: I have learned so much from you in the little time we’ve know each other and you give me a reason to wake up in the morning. I’m thankful for our relationship and I’m glad I’ve gotten to be a part of your life. I love you so much!
Sherwood: you have been here for me during times when no one else was. It feels like I’ve known you forever and I’m glad to be a part of your chorale. Don’t ever tell Sophia but she’s my favorite (I joke I love them all)
My GSA family: Hey GSA! I miss all of you so much and love you dearly. The three weeks we spent together were the best three weeks of my life so far and honestly I don’t know if anything will change that I miss you all.
Underclassmen: for you I am thankful not only because of our personal friendships but also because of the future I see in all of you. I see a bright future and for my Cantemus friends I am thankful that I can say I entrust this department that I love so dearly to you.
Seniors: I can’t express enough how grateful I am for you. Y’all have guided me through probably my toughest point in education and for that I am thankful. Please never leave.
Music: lots of people say music saved their lives but I say music made my life. Because of music I found my passion, my future career, and most of my friends so music is my life because of the connections it builds and it builds a bond like no other.
I am thankful for the good times and the bad times that I have been through because if both had not happened I would not be where I am today.
I love all of you wonderful people and happy thanksgiving!

It’s only been a week and I miss you guys so much, I have about 500 photos from gsa so I wasn’t going to post but these are to good not to, we need all hang out again. 🩷

Hairspray is a celebration of equality! In the 1960's, box TV’s were prominently displayed in living rooms across the nation as dance crazes began to sweep the headlines and teens danced to the latest tunes. It was on these same TV’s that the latest trends, fashions and products were advertised and showcased as the picture perfect display that producers raced to define as the “American Dream.” Outside of this box, and beyond the black and white screens, the world surrounding our “safe haven” was changing.

A fight for both human rights and equality had become prominent in society, and a stand towards racial injustice, discrimination and hate became a force that no one could stand against. When we first began the pre-production phase of Hairspray, I consistently found myself in admiration of Tracy’s character. A young teen who saw the world the way it was, wouldn’t accept it, and decided to make change. A bold young lady that teaches us that the problems we face are merely barriers, not roadblocks. The world needs more Tracys as we continue to break down systemic privilege, prejudice of all kinds, and barriers that inhibit the world from becoming the technicolor TV and life we dream about. No matter what, Tracy continues to see each person as an individual and wholeheartedly believes in a better world for all of us. Some might call it naïveté, others call it hope.

This show has been a beast, and I am forever thankful for a support system and team that supported me when I felt as though I had hit my lowest. For them, I am grateful.

I am so extremely proud of this cast and so very fortunate to have had the opportunity to lead such a talented group of artists as we brought Hairspray to Jessamine!

Let’s, “eat some breakfast, then change the world.” ❤️
