i am SO excited to share that after 6 years of dreaming of this, i am actually DOING this. this year i am launching my first ever curated seasonal box. it will be filled with some locally made and sourced treasures by other small businesses that i LOVE, as well as a few items sourced by me, specifically for you. think claire’s surprise bag, but a wee bit more sustainable, and every item down to the box i hope that you use it all up in a season, or love on it for years to come! more details to come soon about when and how to order 💕💕💕

i am going to preface this by saying that i support you to do whatever makes YOU feel good. this is not to judge, or to shame anyone for their choices, but rather to offer a different perspective in a world where it feels increasingly harder to hear yourself think over all the noise.

this is something that has been on my heart for a while. and especially since i noticed how expressive my daughter is and how already - at 5 - it’s reflected in the lines on her face.

her perfect little crinkles around her eyes when she smiles.

her perfect little scrunches at the nose when she’s being silly.

her perfect little creases in her forehead when she’s surprised.

these are the lines of a little girl who is not afraid to show the world how she’s feeling. and i hope that never changes. i hope people can always tell when she’s happy, or sad, or mad. i hope she never feels like she needs to hide who she is. and i hope that when she is older, she looks in the mirror and sees a life well lived. by @something.foraged

i know, i know, i know. let me plead my case.

1. listen. right or wrong, i view thrifting is a sport, k? there are already enough competitors out there, why would i bring another one?

2. also, i’m already overstimulated enough. the music is loud. the off gassing from whatever they spray on everything is strong and i’m holding in a sneeze 90% of the time.

3. i am HUNTING for treasure. my eyes are wide and i’m honestly not great at multitasking. and the conversation is giving me anxiety that i’m going to miss something.

4. i need to look at everything. and i mean EVERYTHING. the homewares, the books, the kids’ section, the men’s vest section. i want to touch it all. and i really don’t want to worry that you’re done before me.

there are exceptions to this rule, obviously. like if we make a silence deal ahead of time, if I’m thrifting for sport or for pleasure, or if you’re my sister.

also somehow this does not apply to antiquing? maybe it’s a buddy system safety thing 🤷🏼‍♀️

because walking around and thinking “that would make a pretty picture” is how i see the world when i’m actively creating on here. and when i take a long break, i miss it. a lot. so people can say whatever they’d like about instagram and about how silly it is to take pictures of our food and how nobody cares what we ate for lunch because you know what? they’re missing the point. they’re missing the fact that sometimes all you need to do is narrow your focus to notice just how beautiful life is. 💕 by @something.foraged
