🏡 Sometimes, it takes leaving home to realise how rich we truly were.

🌿 When we started living in another state, we understood that the life we once called "normal" was never ordinary. It was a privilege we never noticed.

The hands that fed us with love.❤️ The smell of firewood heating water for our baths, with smoke filling the bathroom.😮‍💨The scent of rain on the soil.🌧️ Crystal-clear water flowing from the forest.🍀The comfort of home-cooked food.😋 The quiet nights lit by a lamp during power cuts.✨ And the peace that felt like medicine.🤍

Maybe happiness was never something I had to search for. Maybe it was always there, hidden in the little things I once called ordinary. ❤️ by @sona_sudarshan

It’s okay that it ended. Maybe it was meant to. No longer holding on to what keeps hurting or wishing for things that are no longer meant to be. Some endings are not failures; they are redirections.
Choosing peace over confusion, happiness over attachment, and self-worth over anything that makes the heart lose its way.
Grateful for what was, at peace with what ended, and ready to move forward with a lighter heart and a happier life.❤️ by @sona_sudarshan

Gulikan (ഗുളികൻ) is one of the most powerful and fearsome Theyyam deities worshipped in North Kerala, particularly in Kannur and Kasaragod. Is traditionally associated with Yama, the deity of death, and represents the unavoidable nature of death, time, and divine justice. Gulikan is not simply seen as a symbol of fear; devotees also view him as a powerful protector who punishes wrongdoing and guards against evil.

During the Theyyam performance, the elaborate costume, intense expressions, movements, and ritualistic presence create a deeply powerful atmosphere. His appearance reminds people of the impermanence of life and the belief that no one can escape time or death. For devotees, Gulikan represents a force that is both terrifying and sacred a reminder to live with truth, respect, and humility. taken in Kasaragod, Kerala, India by @sona_sudarshan
