Slow-ing it down in Ubud, Bali I took a much-needed slow restart to 2025, with a trip to Ubud. This time, it was a journey into real Ubud; with cultural, spiritual and nature-led experiences thrown in. 💦 Water Purification Ceremony: Forget the crowded temple complexes and head to the tranquil Mengening Temple. With no tourist rush, this lesser-known spot offers a serene purification experience. Warning though, the spring water is freezing! You’ll need to dip in and out of 11-12 fountains and multiple pools to complete the ceremony. Also, don’t forget to bring a sarong and sash, or you’ll need to buy one from a vendor nearby. 🔥 Agni Yajna with Idha Guru: The rituals and teachings during this service closely resembled a traditional havan from India. But, it was the powerful combination of music, chanting, cymbals, and conch shell building to a crescendo that truly made the prayer service a mesmerizing experience. When I asked Guru for the secret to happiness, he stressed the profound importance of gratitude—toward the past, present, and future. 🌳 Alas Taro Exploration: My adventure across rural Bali in a mini-Jeep was nothing short of magical. From walking through paddy fields and sacred forests to tasting herbs in the wild and gazing at 8th-century temples, every moment of this 4 hour journey was pure wonder. All of these experiences were thoughtfully curated by the team at @anantaraubudbali where it’s impossible not to embrace the slow life. #bali #ubud #baliubud #waterpurification #baliculture #anantaraubud #tarovillage #sgmummies #sgig #sgmummy #sgtraveller by @sonattymama
#Florence has always been one of my favourite cities. Favourite EATS🍽️ - @gustapizzafirenze Ate here twice, it was that good. Don’t be put off by the queues, these move fast! - Gelato. Pistachio at @gelateriadeinerifirenze , Fruit flavours at Gelateria della Passera. Vivoli for Affogato gelato. - Pear Ravioli at @4leoni_firenze . Tiramisu is suuuu good too! - @mercatocentralefirenze for great food all day long. Part market, part food hall… everything tasted divine! - Sandwich. Haven’t stopped dreaming about @allanticovinaiofirenze LA PARADISO: Mortadella, cream of pistachio and stracciatella cheese with chopped pistachios. - If you make it to San Gimignano, @gelateriadondoli_official might make you cry happy tears! Favourite STAY If you can, book the @nhcollection Porta Rossa. As one of Italy’s oldest hotels this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to truly immerse in history while enjoying a modern hospitality experience. The rooms are well designed with ample space for families and the sumptuous buffet breakfast will keep little(and big) tummies full for the busy days ahead! Favourite SIGHTS - Duomo yes, but make sure to get tickets in time! - If not, don’t miss the Cathedral of Santa Maria. It’s free to go inside but the lines can get really long. Stick around for about 20 minutes and you’ll slowly make your way in. Don’t forget to carry a scarf for bare shoulders or be prepared to buy one! - One of our favourites was The Basilica of Santa Croce with the most beautiful stained glass and also to visit Galileo and Michelangelo’s burial alters. - Medici Chapel - the kids were wowed by the marble and antiques in this chapel. - Piazzale Michelangelo for sunsets views you’ll remember for a lifetime. Make note that it is quite a walk from the centre so either take the bus or leave before the crowds get in. Picnic basket highly recommended! - Favourite shopping! Chocolate, pistachio and both (chocolate with pistachio!). Chilly oil, olive oil, local candy, nuts and leather. There’s a Claire’s in the main square that pre-teens will not miss for the world! Continued in comments….! #firenze #florenceitaly #florencefood #italy #florencewithkids #florencefam by @sonattymama
Paris 2024 💙🤍❤️ We ate, we walked and how much we saw! Officially our favourite city holiday yet. Top recommendations? - The Luxembourg Gardens; rent a sailboat, ride the carousel and take a picnic. You could literally spend days here! - The Louvre. Pick your favourites and don’t try to do it all. For the Mona Lisa(and your kids will want to meet her) stick to the left side of the crowd and it will cave into the front row. Best hack ever! - Eat everything! Drink all the hot chocolate, scout every Boulangerie in the neighbourhood. Nothing will taste close to it once you’re back! - Stay in or around the 6th. We rented an apartment here and it was walkable distance to everything. Air conditioning is a non-negotiable. - Don’t shy away from history just because you are traveling with children! We were surprised by how interested our kids were in old buildings, churches and gory tales. Museums on the other hand, one was more than enough( sorry d’Orsay!). - Climb the Eiffel but also save time for its twinkling spectacle late at night. We got front row seats at a lesser known Chinese restaurant 😅 - Buying a beret? The next stall probably sells it for half the price. Bargain at the stalls but also save time for limited edition books(children’s edition included) at @shakespeareandcoparis and art supplies at @sennelier1887 #paris #parisfrance #parís #summerparis #kidsinparis #pariswithkids #parisforkids #france #francetourisme #familytravel #kidstravel #sgig #igsg #sgtraveller #sgtravelblogger #sgmummies #sgmummy #sgmum by @sonattymama
It’s been a long few months but we managed to move homes, finish a school year and have fun(+ a lot of great food) along the way. 🙌🙌Major milestone TAYLOR SWIFT #Erastour ✔️ I don’t know what was more fun; watching the absolute musical genius that is Taylor Swift or seeing Kyra croon to every song, in an atmosphere as electric as one can imagine!  I have never ever ever...seen Singapore this alive, and accommodating! The number of people who made way for small kids, exchanged and even gifted bracelets and other TS accessories or clicked selfies in unison🤩 Even though it is long, the fact is, you will enjoy every moment of this concert. What might help? ✨REACH EARLY. We got there by 5pm and were able to breeze through the queues quite quickly. ✨BAGS. Bagless entry is definitely faster, but the queues for bag checks were fairly fast moving too. I have heard that bags with chains were not allowed, so do keep that in mind.  ✨BRING. Empty bottles to fill inside, battery backup as you will definitely drain your phones, binoculars, and lots of bracelets to exchange! ✨DON’T bring. Any food or drinks, these will be discarded at entry. ✨DEFINITELY bring. Ponchos! While umbrellas are not permitted, our ponchos saved us from the horrific rain that occurred after the concert! ✨FOOD and DRINK. It pays to come early as the food and drink stalls were running out by the time we queued up. There’s pizza, hot dogs, fries, fish and chips and similar fast food available at different locations, plus lots of drink choices. ✨TOILETS. There are ample toilets located within the stadium. Highly recommend going before you get seated. ✨SEATING. We were quite skeptical about our tickets(re-sale) but the scanning was quick and the seats gave us vantage views from high up. If you are still considering buying tickets, I would suggest getting the tiered seats vs. on the ground where every one is standing and little kids might struggle to see much. You’ve got to go! #TASMANIA As you can tell, we had an absolute blast in Tasmania, Australia. From ⛰️ to 🌊 to 🦘, you’ll never run out of things to see, do or eat! Our favourites included climbing rocks at Bay of Fires, long walks with Wombats at Cradle Mountain, everything Lavender at Bridestowe Lavender Farm, views at Freycinet Park, Little Blue Lake that is actually true-blue, MONA, Hobart waterfront… the list is truly endless. I guess you’ll just have to go! #Tassie #tasmaniaaustralia #visittasmania #sgmom #sgkids #sgmummy #singaporemama #singaporemama #sgig #igsg #sgtraveller #sgtravelblogger #cradlemountain #hobart #travelwithkids #familytravel #tasmanpeninsula by @sonattymama
@bridestoweestate LAVENDER Farm in Tasmania. The setting couldn’t get any prettier, the ice cream any yummier and the kids any calmer. There’s all the proof you need - Lavender truly works 😉 Make time for a trip to Bridestowe Lavender Farm when you’re next in Tasmania, but do keep the following in mind! 🪻CHOOSE the right time to go. Our photos are from 2 January 2024. Fast-forward to 3 weeks now and the flowers aren’t close to this bright purple! Always check the farm’s Instagram account to know what to expect on your visit. 🪻CARRY a major sweet tooth. You have to try the Lavender jam with scones of course, but don’t even think about leaving without a delicious cone(each!) of Lavender ice cream! Savouries such as pies and sandwiches are sold at the cafe too. 🪻HOW to get here. If you are visiting Launceston in Tasmania, the farm makes for a fab day trip. Tickets are sold both online and at the gate and you definitely need a car to get here. We went during peak season and while the cafe was extremely busy with huge queues, the farm is pretty spread out with ample clear views for everyone. Top tip - you can skip the cafe queue and get ice cream from the truck outside. Also, parking and loos aplenty! #bridestowelavender #bridestowe #sgmama #sgmummies #sgig #sgtravel #sgtravelblogger #sgtraveller #tasmania #tasmaniagram #instatasmania #singaporetraveller #lavender #lavenderfields #lavenderflowers #launcestontasmania #australiagram #australia #trending by @sonattymama

@clubmedkani makes every parents’ holiday dream come true! Quality time with the kids + guilt-free indulgence for yourselves because your babies are having SO MUCH FUN. 🌊 Does it get prettier than the Maldives? The blue ocean, white powdery beach and a forever- tropical feeling, it’s got all the makings of a family holiday you’ll want to create year after year. 🌊 The Kids Club. There is no place your kids would rather be! From discovering the most beautiful island they’ve ever seen, to snorkelling lessons, sailing, flying the trapeze and innumerable fun activities, this is the highlight of most Club Med holidays, but we think Kani takes it to a whole new level. This is the screen-free holiday your kids will want to take! 🌊 Food and alcoholic beverages included. Endless international buffets mean the kids are happy with what they can eat including delicious gelato! Alcoholic drinks made to your liking at the beach mean the adults couldn’t have wished for more 😉 🌊 Experiences for the grown ups. Why should the kids have all the fun? You can choose to sign up for several package inclusive excursions and activities here too. From yoga and dance lessons to sailing and snorkelling and diving options, you’ve got enough to conquer should you want to leave that beach bed! 🌊The reason Club Med works is because of its staff! Friendly, and always around the corner, you’ll find nothing is too much to ask. Don’t even think about missing the nightly dance performances, where they’ll get the most talented members of their team to entertain guests all night long. Little ones can tag along too! We promise, you’ll never want to leave 🥰 @maldives @visitmaldives @maldives.explores @clubmed #sgmom #sgmummy #beautifuldestinations #doyoutravel #sgmummies #familyholiday #travelkids #sgkids #luxurykidstravel #sgbabies #kidstravel #luxekidtravel #travelingwithkids #sgmum #igsg #sgmoms #singapore #sgig #beautifulmaldives #discovermaldives #ig_maldives #i❤️maldives #maldives #maldivesbeach #maldivesinsider #maldivesislands #maldiveslovers #officialmaldives #sunnysideoflife #visitmaldives by @sonattymama
MALDIVES 🌊 the one place where brochures match reality. Planning your trip soon? These tips might help! ☀️Season: This is typically low season in the Maldives, and one can expect bouts of rain and thunderstorms. Luckily, we found the rain to be dark, stormy but quick to pass. In fact, we got one 30-minute shower in 7 days! 🛥️If your flight lands at night, I’d recommend staying overnight at a boutique hotel in Male. The views from your boat in the morning will be worth it! Also, if your kids get car sick, get that anti-nausea pill. 🏝️Resort: Many find the idea of one hotel, one restaurant and one island to be quite restrictive. This is why CROSSROADS is such a unique concept. It gives access to SAii Lagoon Maldives(where we stayed) and to the Hard Rock Hotel, as well as to a wide variety of restaurants and bars on its thriving Marina. You literally never have to repeat a meal! 🛌 Need that extra space with the kids? Book @saiilagoonmaldives Family Beach rooms that come kitted out for big groups: 2 bathrooms, comfortable huge beds and a balcony right next to the bluest ocean you’ve ever seen. 🛝Kids’ club: Fab equipment(air hockey, indoor games etc) & fun classes(snorkeling, mocktail making, coconut painting) will keep those little feet happy and entertained. As for meals, each restaurant has their own kids menu, and they’ll never tire of things to eat or drink! 🍔Dine across 13 different restaurants and bars - Full Board is really way to go. The breakfast(free-flowing Mimosas) is a buffet worth getting up for. Post that, at a different restaurant, every meal; Mediterranean, Thai, Indian & Japanese or dine at the award-winning @ministryofcrab Don’t forget the Karaoke night at @hardrockcafemaldives Kids are welcome! 🪴Book the private cooking and dining experience at Badhige where Chef Isura picks vegetables from the organic garden and cooks up a literal storm of flavors. The best part? He gets everyone including the kids to cook with him. 🐟 Take a night walk on the connecting bridge to spot fish, sharks, crabs & cranes. For a real adventure, take a dolphin tour on a Dhoni to see hundreds of 🐬🐬 by @sonattymama
Let’s talk #MACAU! I had the pleasure of flying to Asia’s casino city last week and it was all things I didn’t expect- in a very good way! To everyone who asked, but, what even is there to do in Macau? … this list is for you 😉 - ⛲️The Londoner Macau, The Parisian and it’s Eiffel Tower replica, the alleys of The Venetian, this is mini Europe and even though that may sound cheesy - I promise you it isn’t! - ✨Light, glitz, and music. The place comes alive at night and is perfect for post dinner strolls. #10kdone - 🤳The London Double Decker, phone booths to dramatic gardens, lots and I mean lots of photo opportunities, no matter where you turn. - 🍲Food, and there’s plenty to be had. From awarded-chefs and Parisian cafes to the trusty and convenient @shakeshackhongkong , you won’t have to repeat a dining venue here, that’s for sure. - 👛Shopping. There are literally rows and rows, and some more, of shopping boutiques. It’s definitely a luxury shopping experience with high-end brands but walk towards The Venetian and you’ll find high-street favorites making an appearance too. - 🖼️Activities. From a dramatic ‘Changing of the Guards’ presentation to riding a London Cab with David Beckham’s hologram, you won’t feel wanting of things to do. I’d still highly recommend saving a few hours for teamLab, an international art collective. teamLab explores a confluence of art, science, technology, and the natural world and is an immersive experience you wouldn’t want to miss! - 🏨Hotels. Significantly more luxurious than most cities, Macau is built to spoil you! Think room butlers, suite-only hotels, lobster at breakfast, slipper wardrobes, auto toilets and more. - ✈️Finally, it’s a short (and inexpensive) @flyscoot ride away! Direct flights from Singapore mean this could be the weekend vacay you’ve been wanting to book. Go the distance I’d say, Macau is ready and waiting! #macao #beautifuldestinations #exploringtheglobe #exploremore #sgmama #sgmummy ##lonelyplanet #stayandwander #thelondonermacao by @sonattymama
