Last month I was invited to a primary school to speak to their students and was asked to give a presentation keynote.

I thought I would share some of it here as many are unaware of my journey and I am grateful for the support that I have received over the years.

I am truly honoured to serve as a judge for the ‘Powerlist’ @powerlistmagazine, which celebrates the most influential Black people in Britain. Being part of this process was both humbling and inspiring, a reminder of the extraordinary talent, resilience, and leadership that continue to shape our society.

The Powerlist holds a special place for me because it not only recognises excellence, but also honours impact, purpose, and legacy.

Sitting alongside my esteemed fellow judges, Jacky Wright (Chair), Cecil Peters (J.P. Morgan), Shauna Roper (HSBC), Alwin Swales (PwC UK), David Z. (Latham & Watkins), Tim Campbell (Entrepreneur), and Adenike Adenitire (Director of Editorial at Powerful Media Ltd) was a privilege. Our discussions reflected the depth of influence and commitment each individual brings, both personally and professionally.

Congratulations to everyone featured in the Powerlist 2026, your achievements inspire us all to keep driving change and lifting others as we rise. 💫

Loving the hair on my head 🤎

I debated this for years. Would it suit me? What would people say? This week I finally did something different with my hair.

I sat with @agasalon chair a little unsure about my new short afro. Then I looked in the mirror and smiled, a proper, from the heart smile.

The hair that grows from our heads is a gift. It carries our ancestry, our stories and our strength. Every texture deserves to be celebrated, not corrected.

Sometimes the thing you have been putting off for years is exactly what brings you home to yourself. ✨ by @soniameggie

Anyone who knows you will know that, for you, an event is never just an event. You have such a wonderful ability to bring amazing people together, create genuine connections and make everyone in the room feel inspired, encouraged and part of something special.

These last few weeks have been full of some really special moments. ❤️

Seeing my daughter graduate has been the biggest one. 🎓 Watching her reach this milestone made me one very proud mum, and I’m still taking it all in.

And because life doesn’t stop for one celebration… there have been birthdays, Garage Nation, Roots Picnic, dinner with friends, and a lovely catch-up with my mentor in Kensington.

Lots of laughter, good food, music, dancing and, most importantly, time with wonderful people.

I’ve really enjoyed this little run of celebrations. Life can be so busy that sometimes we forget to stop and enjoy what’s happening right in front of us.

So I’m taking the time to appreciate it all. ❤️

I have just got back from the USA and spent this evening celebrating a 75th birthday and a 65th birthday. They are both friends of my Dad, and at each celebration I was told how much I look like my mother and how kind and selfless she was. I felt proud and a bit teary at the same time ❤️🥺

My body may still be on ET time, but as I listened, danced and spent the evening with my Dad, it meant so much to see him smile and introduce my sister and me with such pride.

I adopted a new mantra following my Mum’s passing: “All we have are moments and memories.”

I’m sharing a little snippet of this evening because it made me miss my Mum a lot, but it also reminded me what a blessing it is to be able to celebrate these special moments with the people we love.

The moral of the story is:
show up for the birthdays, take the pictures and make the memories, because one day those moments will mean everything. ❤️

Hi from sunny NYC 👋🏾

It’s been a minute since I was last here, and I’ve been blessed with some beautiful weather again, very similar to London! ☀️

I rarely have the capacity to enjoy my evenings when I’m travelling for work, so this week I decided to explore a little.

It’s been a week of good food, good people, good music and a little bit of exploring in my spare time.
