solo travel begins. ✨

i left the united states seven weeks ago to begin my dream of long term solo travel.

i sold all my things, except for my instruments, journals, and photos which i put in storage, and booked a one way flight to madrid.

solo travels unexpectedly continued 🇮🇹. also, i’ve never used my own music when posting so trying it out for the first time: i wrote this one and it’s called Long Way. i like sharing lyrics when i share my songs 💗:

first photo back in the US. flew from london to knoxville to celebrate my favorite brit @nataliesimpkins. after being on my own, suddenly being surrounded by people i not only knew well but love SO much caused a flood of emotions and it came out as a chaotic combination of uncontrollable giggles, waves of intense fear, big happiness, and a general sense of being about to burst.

photos at the end depict going slowly insane and an impromptu night at a charlotte airport hotel over the course of them delaying my connecting flight for 24 hours in one hour increments LOL 👍🏽. taken in Knoxville, Tennessee by @soniarao

this post marks one year of solo travel complete.

for my own wellness and sanity, i want to note that these posts are .0001% of my reality.

there was meaning in the travel itself and there is also meaning in the documenting and sharing of it. i’ve chosen to share minimally this past year, but i’d like to share more at some point.

social media is an endless and enormous monster but when i consider the number of people who actually see and read my posts, my corner of the internet is very tiny. i tend to see the same small handful of people responding and viewing — hi! i consider us a little cluster of humans moving through this lifetime together, witnessing at least the small portion our lives we choose to share with each other in this medium.

so no matter how you feel about me (totally get that some people hate follow lol), it seems to me that we are in a cluster together, which is so cool and beautiful and thank you for being here.
