Some guitars are instruments. Others are pieces of history.

Inside the main room at Sonic Ranch, you’ll find guitars with stories that go far beyond their specs from a 1968 Les Paul Custom that once belonged to Saturday Night Live, to a Gibson Futurama owned by Billy Gibbons and loaded with 1959 Gibson pickups.

There’s also the 100th Anniversary Gibson ES-335, a 1977 Les Paul Custom once owned by legendary producer Jerry Finn, a Jimmy Page 1959 Les Paul reissue, and the one-of-a-kind Boydcaster a true work of art that sounds every bit as incredible as it looks.

These guitars have been part of the Sonic Ranch story, and some have been part of countless records made right here.

Which one would you want to plug in first?

Some compressors have a story behind them.

These EAR 660s once belonged to legendary producer Jerry Finn, whose work helped define some of the most influential pop-punk records of their era.

They became the final piece of his mastering chain so important to his sound that he paired them with custom Wireworld cables made with pure silver.

Now they’re part of the collection at Sonic Ranch, alongside some serious studio heavy hitters: Tube-Tech CL1B, Martech MSS10, vintage Pultec EQP-1A, GML EQ and a Lexicon 480L.

And yes… we put the EAR 660s to the test.

Listen to the bypass vs. the EAR 660s processing and tell us:

**Can you hear the difference? Would you put these in your mastering chain?**

80 channels. Decades of history. One legendary Neve.

This 80-channel Neve 8078 is more than a console it’s a piece of recording history.

From West Coast Motown Studios, where Marvin Gaye and the Jackson Five recorded through it, to sessions connected to Madonna and Yoshiki Hayashi of X Japan, this console has already lived several lives.

Since 2005, it has been making new history here at Sonic Ranch.

31 105 preamps and EQs. Four-band EQ. Classic Neve Class A design. And 80 channels ready to shape the sound of whatever comes through the door.

A monster of a console — and one of the centerpieces of the Neve Studio at Sonic Ranch.

If you had this board for one day, what would you record through it?
