I’m long overdue for a post on all the books in this series. Here we go . . . 📚🖤This fantasy series is for readers who enjoy fierce yet flawed main characters, pacing & an immersive setting that work together to feel like a movie, a diverse cast of family & found family that you can imagine yourself being a part of, all the feels including wonder, doubt, humor, passion, guilt, determination, vengeance, enlightenment, and belonging. The running theme is the tension/connection between light & dark and the fact that we cannot have one without the other. (I believe we are all morally grey but that’s a discussion for another time.) 🖤The series story is centered on Sara & her journey as she discovers a magical world & her role in it. The romance B-story line is palpable, on page, and nongraphic. 📚Witch of Ware Woods (book 1) is about Sara finding herself & who she really is. It is about CHOICE. 📚Death & Dragons (book 2) is about Sara coming into her role. It is about TRUST in yourself & others. 📚Spells & Shadows (book 3) is about Sara embracing what she is capable of. It is about BELIEVING in yourself. All three books are available in paperback & hardcover (with naked case design) at major online retailers. At the time of this post, eBooks are only available on Amazon & are free on Kindle Unlimited. ✨Please note that Spells & Shadows officially launches on April 16, 2024 and will be available at that time. Ah, but there’s a fourth book: 📚Flood & Fire is the series prequel novella and is the story of Ann & Kingsley. It is an origin story - the why and how Ware Woods was formed. This prequel is more historical fantasy in that the setting is the 1700’s. Flood & Fire is a free eBook & is only available on my website. (At some point, I’ll make paperback & hardcover versions.) 🖤All four books are intricately plotted with spiraling elements and overall series arcs. They can certainly be enjoyed independently but are best savored when read all together. 🖤There are no massive cliff hangers between books. Rest assured that while the story may squeeze your heart there is a happily ever after. Because the real world is rough enough. ✨SEE COMMENTS FOR MORE by @sonjafblanco

(redoing this pinned post to put ALL the cards on the table. Bwahaha!) ✨🖤Who’s up for a magical game?🖤✨ 📚 If you like fantasy books with a “pull you in” unique magical system, the Witch of Ware Woods trilogy will whisk you away (because don’t we all need a little escapism? Yes. Yes we do). Seriously. There are a few trees in Ware Woods that will suck. You. In. What else to expect from this trilogy: ✨Fierce female main character 🖤Family & found family ✨Witches, shifters, vampires, and dragons (oh my) 🖤MF romance (all the electric tension, feels, and tingling “release” 🔥 without being graphic #upperya) ✨Diverse cast of characters 🖤Plot twists & turns ✨Fast-paced action 🖤Banter ✨Immersive forest setting 🖤Magical treehouse ✨Persnickety grimoire 🖤Villains you’ll love to hate, then hate to love (at least some of them😈) ✨For a taste of this magical world, pick a card and see which of the 5 magical families you belong to. Each family has a special soul tree and a unique set of magical skills, as well as typical personality traits. ✨I want to know which family you choose! Comment below if your pick is a good fit or if there is another family that resonates with you. Need more? Visit my bio link for website, FREE prequel, retailers, newsletter sign up and more. 😉Every month I send out a newsletter with insider info, latest shenanigans, and updates on the next book. 🖤Have a wickedly magical day!😘 Extra info: *The vine border on the cards is the same border on the back covers of Witch of Ware Woods and Death & Dragons. It is also wrapped around the border of the Ware Woods map. *I drew the trees in pen and ink by hand. These trees are also in the updated Ware Woods map in Death & Dragons. #witchofwarewoods #witchofwarewoodsseries #deathanddragons #fantasybooks #fantasybookseries #fantasybookstagram #witchybooks #witchybookstagram #romantasy #yafantasy #yafantasybooks #yafantasyseries #paranormalfantasy #booksbooksbooks #bookstagram #magicalreads #fantasytrilogy by @sonjafblanco

When readers DM to say LETHAL - our arrogant, gods forsaken, beautiful, no F’s to give, blade wielding vampire with a massive chip on their shoulder and a tragic backstory that may never see the light of day because it’s THAT tragic- makes them LAUGH out loud, I cry. Tears of blood and joy. Of course. 😘😭😏🗡️🖤✨ #vampirebooks #witchofwarewoods #fantasybooks #vampirelove by @sonjafblanco

Review: The Witch of Ware Woods by Sonja Blanco Genre: YA /Fantasy 5/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Witch of Ware Woods is less like a story you simply read and more like a place you quietly return to—again and again—drawn by something half-remembered, half-felt. Ware Woods itself becomes the beating heart of the book. It isn’t just a setting; it breathes, watches, and whispers. Blanco writes the forest with such textured intimacy that you can almost feel the hush beneath the canopy, the weight of old magic in the soil, the sense that every path holds a secret just for you. If you’ve ever longed for a place that feels both sheltering and untamed, it’s Ware Woods. At its center is Sara, an eighteen-year-old who has always known she is not normal—but not why. As her inexplicable power begins to surface beyond her control, her life fractures under the weight of loss, fear, and the sense that something dark is hunting her. When she finds refuge in Ware Woods, what unfolds is not just escape, but revelation. Sara doesn’t simply learn she is a witch—she begins to understand that her magic is something deeper, more dangerous, and possibly tied to a fate the forest itself cannot ignore. Her journey is one of testing and transformation. As an outsider, Sara must prove she belongs among those who have long protected the woods, all while hiding the very force that makes her different. There’s a constant tension between control and surrender, identity and fear—especially as a fatal prophecy and a creeping blight threaten everything Ware Woods stands for. What makes this book resonate so strongly is how it honors connection—between people, between past and present, and most beautifully, between human spirit, the natural world, and the magical world. Blanco doesn’t rush these bonds; she lets them grow slowly, like moss creeping over stone, until you suddenly realize how much they mean. By the final pages, you’re left with that rare, quiet kind of ache—the kind that only comes from leaving somewhere you never quite wanted to leave in the first place and a place you definitely want to come back to! The greatest part is that you know… Sara’s story is only just beginning! 🔥 #fantasy by @sonjafblanco

Happy Book Birthday to 🔥DEATH & DRAGONS🔥 🖤How I LOVE this second book in the Witch of Ware Woods trilogy! ✨The magical setting, the character arcs, the dastardly villains, and our main girl BRINGING it!!! 😈The banter between Sara, Lethal, and Samson cracks me up. Every. Time. 🫠The “special” moments between Sara & Thomas, melts my tiny heart. Every. Time. Sigh 🐉And of course, dragons! (You’ll see)😉 🎉Since book birthdays only come once a year, it’s the perfect time to “sale”ebrate with a 99 cent only ebook! (Amazon. All marketplaces.
