Curious Heart

I look closely at the people I love,
trying to understand
what draws them near
and what quietly pulls them away.

Sometimes, I find warmth
in places I didn’t expect.
Sometimes, I find distance
where I had hoped for more.

To care so deeply
is to learn to see people
not only for who I wish they’d be,
but for who they truly are.

And perhaps the gift
of a curious heart
is seeing them clearly
and choosing love anyway.

In this moment, I finally feel happy
Reflecting on the weeks gone by.
Every experience, a lesson learned,
A reckoning of my heart’s true wealth.

Tears watered the seeds of growth,
Grief and melancholy, fertile ground.
Yet hope’s tidal wave washed over me,
Transforming pain into golden fruit.

The emptiness has given way to solace,
Your spirit’s vision, my silver lining.
May your memory guide me on holy days,
A cherished ghost, forever in my heart.
