Would you like me to show you some of my absolute favourite floral fabrics? You may have gathered already that I love florals! I think because I love the garden so much, and they give a room such a wonderful sense of joyfulness and peace. Most of ours are printed on linen, which is wonderfully durable, so they are perfect for sofas and for curtains as well. One of the things we've done from the beginning with our sofas is giving you the option of a contrast border on the cushions. I have a beautifully soft green cotton velvet on mine which I adore. Which ones would you choose for your room?

Come with me to meet the family who weave our organic cottom, including Ian, who worked with my Dad's businesses for over 40 years. It’s a family mill, and his daughter Sarah, the second generation, showed me everything they weave for us which is certified organic. Every length of the organic yarn they buy is credited back against a global standard, so each sofa made in this fabric gives a little something back.

Then Sarah took me into the weaving sheds, which I absolutely loved, seeing thousands of separate threads wound onto the warping beam, then running through the looms, then laid out on the inspection table where every metre is checked by eye and by hand before it’s measured, wrapped and sent to our workshop.

What stays with me most is the dedication and skill of everyone and how they just get on with doing it beautifully, as they have for decades. They wove for Dad, they still weave for Jasper, and now they weave for me, and every bit of fabric we order helps keeps these UK looms running. I can’t think of a nicer reason to choose one.

Come and dive into my gorgeous sofas and enjoy this completely heavenly melody by Arturo Márquez from his Danzón No. 2 played here by the incredible Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra. My sofas are covered in Wildwood Ivory with a very lovely Moss velvet piping which is super soft. I absolutely love them and hope you do too! We make these sofas by hand in the UK and the US from natural materials and I am very happy to say we are still taking orders for delivery before Christmas. Look at these! Every single dahlia on this table came out of the garden and yes, there are lots more where they came from! 🌸 October is when the dahlias go completely mad at Salthrop and I get to fill the house with them. Pink on pink on pink, candles in every colour.

The secret to growing them like this isn't magic, it's just knowing a few things. And I am super excited to say that I've roped in the people who know them best. On Friday 9 October, we're throwing a Dahlia Day at Salthrop and you're invited.

Bridget and Henrietta from The Land Gardeners are coming to spill the beans on everything, which tubers to plant, how to store them so they don't rot over winter, how to stake them so they don't flop, and how to cut them so you get more flowers rather than fewer. Then we'll wander round the garden together, looking around at everything, before I feed you an organic lunch cooked from what we grow here.

After lunch, the very wonderful Kate Gatacre takes over for a propagation masterclass. Cuttings, autumn sowings, all the clever tricks. And you take your cuttings home with you, so next summer you'll have a little bit of Salthrop growing in your own garden.

We start with coffee and a bacon sandwich at 9:30 and finish with tea and cake at 3:15, because no day out is complete without cake.

It's a small, cosy gathering, so if this sounds like your sort of day, grab a ticket before they go. Link in my bio. Bring a notebook, wear boots, and prepare to fall in love with dahlias all over again.

Come with me to discover how we make our wonderful sofas. I absolutely love visiting workshops and factories to see the things you never normally see. Seeing how something is actually made gives you a completely different understanding of what it takes to make things really properly. Like the old fashioned coil springs in our sofa bases. It's how they used to make them before they became too expensive for most sofa retailers. In fact, there's now only one place in the UK that makes springs like the ones we use. It's like having a high quality mattress at the bottom of your sofa. Then there's hardwood frame from sustainably sourced timber that we guarantee for 25 years. All made by the most incredible craftspeople in the UK and the US, they do it all by hand and are so incredibly skilled.

The really lovely part is that every single one is made specially for you. Your size, your shape, your cushion filling (softer, firmer or even one side different from the other), loose covers you can take off and clean, and any suitable fabric you like. We'll even make you a render so you can see exactly how your sofa will look in your fabric in your home.

Hello, I've been thinking about how the evenings are drawing in here at Salthrop and autumn is well in its way and how much I'm looking forward to all that it brings. I can't wait to get my first fire lit and be snuggling up on my lovely sofas with a good book or my latest favourite show. Frank very sneakily hopped on here as we were setting up this gorgeous Henrietta Sofa that was made specially for a lovely customer in the US. It was made here in England and is currently on its way to her and her family.

I commissioned this special coffee table this summer and it's actually now in my bedroom. The embroidery on the silk is totally exquisite. If you'd like us to make something special for you, remember that we can make bespoke sizes and in any suitable fabric. Our team can do all the sourcing for you.

Sunlit pours into my entrance hall in the afternoon and fills the space with a magical light. It makes this Coco sofa with box edge cushions covered in organic cotton woven in Yorkshire look absolutely stunning.

Apollo and Frank are enjoying themselves here on my Coco 2.5 sofa with knife edge cushions covered in Duck Egg Wildwood fabric with Clementine velvet piping. I just love how joyful and completely beautiful the whole scene is here. Lots of different patterns and colours coming together so harmoniously. Heaven.

And now for something completely different, same space but look how the room changes with the all white sofa and coffee table. Apollo almost disappears in this photo 😂

This gorgeous little sofa is a 2 seater version of my Sophia sofa which originates from an 18th century original I have had for many years. This one is super comfy for a more formal sofa and works really well in a hallway, at the end of a bed and also as a very comfortable dining bench.

When we first set up my living room in all white I could hardly believe how stunning it looked. The entire space instantly become serene and even more wonderful to be within. Here you see my Henrietta Sofa and armchair in organic cott by @sophieconran

A whole bottle of red wine and four and a half hours. That's the secret to my delicious ragù. 🍷

And now my part two is here, the wine, the tomatoes, the long slow bubble, and then fresh pasta with plenty of butter. It really is very yummy and the whole house smells wonderful while it cooks.

Would you like to learn how to make a really delicious ragù? 👌

If you loved my Chicken, Leek and Tarragon Pie and the Fish Pie, I think you'll love this too. It's proper, slow, comforting and very yummy food.

It's great to make when there's some leftover roast lamb in the fridge. You'll need pork mince, lamb chopped into big chunks, porcini soaking in boiling water, button mushrooms, a whole bottle of red wine and a sofrito of celery, onions and leeks. Bay leaves, dried thyme, and maybe a tiny bit of chilli.

Brown the mince gently and don't cook it through. You just want a little bit of colour on there.

The cook the onions slowly, a little butter and olive oil until they go translucent, and let it all soften down into a lovely mass. This is where the flavours get to know each other and really comes to life.

Part two is the wine, the tomatoes and four and a half hours of bubbling, and it's coming tomorrow. Follow so try not to miss it and do let me know what you'd like me to cook next!

Come and meet the fantastic Melissa Hemsley and see some of her gorgeous home and how she and her partner Henry have brought together a wonderful mixture of patterns and colours to create such a warm and welcoming space. I came laden with some delicious vegetables and dahlias from my garden and had such a lovely time chatting with Melissa, Henry and family. They bought their 4 seater Coco sofa about three years ago and chose this fabulous Magnolia fabric from @gpjbaker with a contrast trim of sage velvet for a new cover more recently. It really does bring so much joy and life to their room. We had a lot to chat about so watch out for the next video where Melissa tells us a bit about how her incredible career as a cook and writer began. Can you believe it's made from recycled bottles?!! I am so thrilled to show you my lovely new bag for Waitrose, it's very comfortable to hold, really strong and very roomy with a joyous floral pattern inside and an extremely useful little pocket for your keys and phone and other smaller things that always seem to otherwise get lost at the bottom of a bag somewhere... Would you like to learn how to make fresh pasta? It's actually very easy and extremely delicious too!There are only three ingredients, 15 egg yolks, one egg, flour, and a pinch of salt. It really couldn't be simpler. The secret is in the resting. I wrap the dough in cling film and leave it for at least half an hour. If you skip this, it'll stick to the machine and give you all sorts of sticky problems. Then it's just a case of rolling it out or through a machine like this ine. You can keep it as sheets for lasagne, or let it dry a little and cut tagliatelle as I have here. Dry it completely and you can keep it for ages. Next time I'm going to show you how to make a ragù to go with it. By the way, if there's anything you'd like me to cook, please let me know 😊
